Price Paid:  $0.00 from Came with car

Year / Model Reviewed:
1998 code alarm 400

Summary:
What a complete waste of time, i've just bought a Legacy Turbo Est and the previous owner fitted a code alarm. He said it was programmable, yeah right. All mine does is beep, alot! Doesn't work locks, re-sets every minute when car not running and movement detectors not working. I'm going to rip the thing out-if it lets me!!

Strengths:
Keeps the neighbours up!

Weaknesses:
Everything

Similar Products Used:

Review 2 of 5

Price Paid:  $300.00 from Code alarm authorize

Summary:
My Pickup was stolen so I decided to have Code Alarm authorized dealer install this alarm. Worked for about 3 months then it started to drain my battery - they could not figure the problem and it continued to drain my battery so I had to disconnect. I purchased a $15.00 CLUB and have no problems with it.

Strengths:
Worked for a short time and worked well when it did.

Weaknesses:
Just about everything. Cheapo manufacturer does not even have an up and running website (as of this writting). No where to get manual download or tech support help.

Similar Products Used:
I've had great luck with cars that came with alarms even the older models.

Year / Model Reviewed:

Summary:
Total crap! The previous owner installed it and I absolutely hate it. It's next to impossible to find someone who knows anything about Code Alarms and I'd do just about anything to get it off of my car.

Strengths:
Manages to unlock and lock doors.

Weaknesses:
almost everything

Review 5 of 5

Price Paid:  $350.00 from UNKNOWN

Year / Model Reviewed:
 94/ Ford

Summary:
I have been searching for the "Code Alarm Company since takeing my Explorer in for service last month. The service department infromed me( after $100.00 dollar diagostic fee) that my car alarm system was not factory installed, and indeed was a CODE ALarm system and that they did not repair this alarm. I bought the car used and assumed the alarm was factory installed. I've been having a great deal of trouble finding anyone in the Minneapolis area authorized to repair the "Code alarm". I feel replacement parts and service are part of a purchase. This Alarm appears to be expendable because of the difficulty and expense in fiding repair parts and services.

Strengths:
Good trust-worthy alarm, when it was working.

Weaknesses:
Repair parts and warrenty Support are significantly laking.

Similar Products Used:
Factory support is better
