Review 1 of 1

Price Paid:  $170.00 from Ex Sony Rep

Year / Model Reviewed:
 1996

Summary:
This is a fantastic amp. The twin power supplies and the 1-Ohm stability makes for a superb amp in any application. I had it hooked up to a set of Blaupunkt OverDrive 6x9's, and the sound quality deserves a standing ovation, although it was in the wrong place considering those speakers were rear fill. The amp is now hooked up to a Memphis Studio 10" DVC running at 2 Ohms mono. It gets hot enough to fry eggs at this impedance, but it runs all day like that. This is an amp for picky people. I have also a 2100G and am considering in getting another one of these. If you can find one of these amps within US$100-$200 price range, you have yourself a deal you don't want to back down on.

Strengths:
This amp never ceased to amaze me with its SQ and bass output. Truly an amp to be appreciated. It has adequate cooling considering the heatsink is 2/3rds of the amp!

Weaknesses:
They WERE expensive and rare, but now they're just rare. The shell on it isn't really useful and just takes up space.

Similar Products Used:
Nothing that can compare except the 2100g from that year.
