Review 1 of 64

Price Paid:  $0.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
2004 Toyota Camry

Summary:
I have nothing bad to say about this company. My car was totaled in an accident and they paid off my car loan and then sent me a check. I was worried after reading sites like this that they would low ball the value of my car. But the settled my claim very fairly. The people in the claims dept. were always polite and availble when I called. And always answered any questions I had throughout the whole claim process.

Strengths:
Settled my claim fairly. Good claims dept.

Weaknesses:
It took a little over a month to settle. But from what i've been reading, thats about normal time.

Review 2 of 64

Price Paid:  $0.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
2001 Ford Expedition

Summary:
After supplying insurance agent Mike Beale (866)277-9139 ext 3556 with DPS report 2007-023447 along with receipts for one nights motel stay and car rental he called to inform me that Coast National would not be liable for any of the damages to my car even though the accident was clearly his clients fault as reported to DPS by Eduardo Martinez (insured) and two witnesses. When I asked him why his company would not fix my car he told me that it was a personal issue with the insured and that he would not discuss it with me. When I informed the agent that I would file a formal complaint with AZ Department of Insurance he hung up on me.

Review 3 of 64

Price Paid:  $0.00 from Oxnard Ford

Year / Model Reviewed:
1998 Ford Escort

Summary:
Read Below

Strengths:
There are NO strengths to list.

Weaknesses:
If EVER you are in an automobile accident with somebody insured by Bristol West Insurance or Coast National Insurance...hold your breath and GET OVER the fact that it's gonna be a BUMPY ride if you're dealing with this company and most especially, ins. adjuster STUART SUSSMAN...

He mailed me the 'estimated' amount to get my car repaired but forgot to actually include the check with his dumb letter. I called to tell him and he said he's stop payment on said check and reissue another, which I received a few days later. I deposited said check and have since paid my auto body guy only to find out TONIGHT that he "stopped payment" on the WRONG CHECK!!!!

So, the almost $600 check was sucked from my account, I was charged a fee for having a check stopped that I deposited and my overdraft protection kicked in and I am now being charged credit card interest..........F*&K!

How does he stop payment on the wrong check? I am so pissed at this company and man as he's been a total jerk and has been difficult to deal with all along...not that his supervisor, Mary, was any better when I first spoke with her.

Just had to vent,
Melissa

I feel sorry for the girl that's insured by Bristol West Ins./ Coast National Ins. that rear ended me on the freeway; SHE has to deal with them more regularly than I have...god bless her!

Review 4 of 64

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
I use to WORK for this company. The employees were snotty and gossipy. When my department was eliminated, they let us know that we were being fired the very same day they let us go. Someone had also thrown out a notebook of mine that I had personal things in. I read one of the other reviews regarding someone who never got calls returned. The same thing happened to me when I tried to call the Personnel Department about various things. They NEVER returned any of my calls. THIS COMPANY STINKS!

Review 5 of 64

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
After reading some of the reviews - I feel fortunate not to have had experienced this company's abusive treatment.
But heres a thought, (and i know this dosn't apply to everyone, like if you have liability only coverage for example). GO THROUGH YOUR OWN INSURANCE CARRIER FOR THE DAMAGES, yes, you would have to pay your deductible but isn't 500.00 or 1K bucks out of pocket to get your vehicle back, timely, by a reputable, professional shop and not deal with the frustrations of bw, worth it ?
(you probly have to take the at fault party to small claims court to recover your deductible, but at least you don't have to stress yourself over these jerks.) Ins. regs require the at fault party to make the other party whole. meaning bw or thier insured are liable for your deductible also. These jerks probly make the shops use inferior LKQ (used) and after market parts for your repairs too. GO THROUGH YOUR OWN CARRIER AND AVOID THE FRUSTRATION OF DEALING WITH THESE TYPE OF COMPANIES.

Strengths:
they are consistant with thier service and appears not to discriminate for race, religion, sex and age of their victims

Weaknesses:
United, the consumers (and their own hand) will bring them down
