Strength:

Incredible sound. Clarity is very impressive. Good Power to speakers. Beautiful faceplate.

Weakness:

No Subwoofer level control. VERY bad Panasonic customer support.

Saw the faceplace, and fell in love with the vivid color. (it matched the color of my car perfectly) It sounds AWESOME, and read CD that were WAY scratched. untill.... a year or so of use. (in VW the radio compartmewnt isnt sealed really well.. so dust and dirt can get in there.. then it started skipping on brand new CDS. So bad, it got really frustrating. I Looked all over for a place to get a new one, because Panasonic wouldnt fix it for me at a fair price. I found one for 135.00 and ordered it. then took apart my old one, relubricated the Rod that runs the laser bhack and forth, and it works great again! Definately keeping it.

Strength:

easy to control, super noise shaping, powerful amp

Weakness:

None

I was little short on budget to get a receiver, but I found great price from net, millionbuy.com. paid $159 New 201 model and delivery was very fast. I paid $50 to have a shop to install the unit and love to enjoy powerful amp and controls. Little lack of display, but it's less.

Strength:

Very powerful unit and gives my speakers a work out! The blue display fit my taste, as my dash is blue as well and the receiver definitely complements not only my dash but my whole car. A built in fuse in the line prevents the receiver from frying on me as it has shut down a couple of times because im drawing too much power. Trap door face where the cd hides behind the face (again, based on tastes here). Clean sounding as well and the music is well distributed. Give this unit a second look.

Weakness:

If you have a scratched cd the unit kicks out the disc, but when you have the face locked in, the motor keeps pushing out the cd until the cd is out. No sub out therefore no sub control. The level displays aren't very accurate - they're a fraction of a second behind the beats, but then again, who's looking at the meters anyway? One other thing is that it gets pretty warm but Im not too concerned as it has a built in shut down mechanism.

Ive had this cd player for a little over a month and have had virtually no problems with this (just like the sound shutting off because of too much power and the cd kicking into the back of the faceplate). This unit is awesome - I literally sit in my garage and listen to the music for a good 5 minutes before I stroll into the apartment. I look forward to night driving more than I do day driving due to the cool blue display. The reason I got this unit was because it was blue and had a unique look to it. If youre flexible and can bare the blue display to go with your green or red dash, just do what I did and change the color of your dash. Very awesome unit, especially for the price!

Strength:

Very cool. the picture makes this product look horrible but the all blue display is nicer than the multi color. the multi color does not have very sharp colors but the all blue display can make that one color very sharp. This product is very cool at night. I love the little remote! Extremely crisp sound coming in. Made my factory speakers sound like after-market.

Weakness:

No sub out-puts.

Best Cd reciever for the $200-$250 range.

Strength:

Panasonic quality; removable faceplate; higher power MOSFET final output; way cool blue light displays add a very high tech cool visual effect... WAY TO GO PANASONIC!!! THIS RECEIVER IS AESTHETICALLY GORGEOUS!!!

Weakness:

Nothing. This is a marvel in CD receivers for the price!

Panasonic sure makes some incredible car audio CD receivers! This player sounds very tight and powerful, and the CD section has a good D/A converter with very hi-res sound and a deep, detailed soundstage. What a major improvement over my factory radio/cassette player in my VW Golf. The FM section is excellent as well, and the MOSFET final amplifier sounds very punchy, although I am wondering where all the heat generated is going to go, being that this thing is installed IN the dash. It is one thing to have a lower powered receiver in there, but time will tell as to how this thing will fare, with it being higher powered than your typical car receiver. I am concerned that a higher powered receiver like this one that is dashboard mounted will not receive adequate ventilation for cooling. All in all, a definite best bang per buck CD receiver for your car/truck!!!

Strength:

Great Clear Sound. The Controls are easy to use

Weakness:

Only the blue colors on the display; No Sub-Woofer Output

I initially was going to purchase new speakers, but the salesman said I should get a new receiver. I decided to trust his judgement, and bought the DF200U. I noticed a MAJOR improvement in the clarity of the sound over the stock receiver.

The output is 45x4. If you're into basey music, you'll want to get the model with the Sub-Woofer output which is the DF400-DF800 (I believe).

Strength:

Very Attractive Blue Screen. Has a Super Bass amplifier button...Very good bass and treble. Easy to use controls and easy to view. Lots of buttons to press (if you like buttons).

Weakness:

Might not fit all interiors...considering the blueness of it. Have to lower faceplate before entering in a CD. Not much other than that. I hope it last long.

Paid $199 at Fry's. It is by far the best deck for the money! Give it a try. 5 Stars well earned!
