Review 1 of 7

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
YOU NEED TO READ THIS BEFORE YOU BUY ANY PRODUCT HERE!!!

I am not going to post a review on a product that I've purchased because I walked out of the store before I bought anything. After just coming back from Iraq I walked into this store wanting to purchase some amps, speakers, and wire to install in my new truck. I walked in and up to the counter to ask some questions about prices. An Army soldier about my age and the same rank as me walked up next to me. The lady proceeded to tell the young soldier how she had been involved in an accident caused by some "*&$%ing gooks" a few years back. Apparantly the young soldier had just been in an accident and was on his way to the insurance company. What happened next infuriated me. She proceeded to tell the young soldier how to commit insurance fraud by claiming his neck and back hurt. She said he would get paid to go to thereapy and not have to go to work and claimed that "It's great to get paid to miss work, and get a massages every day in thereapy. You can pull this off for weeks." I stood there right in front of them and listened to their whole conversation. The soldier asked her for tips on how to lie and fake his injuries and she answered his questions and made more racist comments.

That's when It donned on me. These are the type of people that like to screw others over!...and I'm in their store about to purchase a stereo? What am I stupid? I left.

I have been driving for 10 years now and have been hit 3 times. It's and accident, no one wants to damage their car and have their insurance go up. Don't take advantage of your fellow Americans. These are the people that make up our country. What's wrong with America today? Do what is right! Don't screw people over just because you can. It's days like these that make me sorry I'm fighting to protect scum like this.

Please don't buy anything here and tell anyone you can about this. I don't care if you're liberal or conservative, it's wrong and next time It could be you.

Strengths:
None!!!

Review 2 of 7

Price Paid:  $419.00 from Mesa radio

Year / Model Reviewed:
2002 Sanyo EXCD-1000 Excedio

Summary:
At first I thought this the greatest. After 6 months the CD quit working. It was sent in for warranty repair they sent me a new head unit. 9 months after that the CD would not eject. I was told that they would not repair again unless I paid for it even though the unit was new and less than a year old.

Strengths:
Great if you want CD and cassette.

Weaknesses:
Not good if you only want a $400 clock radio.

Similar Products Used:
Pioneer is worlds above this radio for less money.

Review 4 of 7

Price Paid:  $332.00 from hi-volume in killeen

Summary:
i first discovered the EXCD-1000 as i needed both cd and cassette in one single din unit. i accepted the fact that it did not have a remote, count CD track time, and has a somewhat gaudy display-- but for the money i paid it should play CD-Rs! (CD track time may be seen by rewinding or fast-forwarding) (sanyo support says it will play cd-r's recorded at 2X speed or slower). it is too bad that to this day not jvc, sony, pioneer, or any other flagship brand has fit cd/cassette into a single DIN. almost immediately after my 1-year parts/labor warranty expired, the lcd display died on me. if i wanted to see what station or function i was listening to-- i would have to shine a light on the faceplate. i took the stereo to a sanyo service center and the gentleman told me that the back-lit display goes out on the excedio more so than any other unit. on the upside, its overall playback is still satisfactory. the tape player on the EXCD-1000 has never disappointed me. buy this receiver if you're old school & new school like me; don't buy it if you are willing to wait for competition to knock 1000 out the box.

Strengths:
one-of-a-kind car receiver. dolby "B". detachable faceplate. it has the amps as the power to please.

Weaknesses:
it's a time bomb waiting for your factory warranty to expire. neither the excd-1000 or the eax-510 (cd changer) play CD-Rs/RWs. sanyo customer support personnel are ignorant, misdirectional, and all-around unhelpful. since it is one-of-a-kind, the unit is too expensive.
