Year / Model Reviewed:
2003 DXZ635MP

Summary:
High qualitly CD/MP3/WMA Headunit, has good 52x4 internal amplifier. It is a blue screen, with a detcatchable face plate, it has many different features, has about 4 pairs of RCAS, it can do it all. It has a chessy airplane screensaver & screen savers, is SIRUS ready. A good qualitly mp3 cd player for somewhat cheap. Clarion ProAudio line, it is a above-average deck but not the highest end. It is CE-net compatiable, the unit is somewhat light & will not skip. It has a rear/subwolfer rca out that you can adjust the freq of, w/ a subwolfer volume control. The remote is somewhat bulky, like most clarion decks, but should not be the reason for buying this deck. It sounds very clear on my RF amplifiers, and have never had any problems with it. THE CLARION FACEPLATE CASES ARE CHEAPO. Overall a good headunit, lots of chrome, but I would not consider it the nicest looking deck.

Strengths:
CD/MP3/WMA compatiable, ProAudio series, w/ adjustable freq tunning. Plenty of RCAS, inputs, multi-outputs. Blue screen, high wattage 52x4 is compatiable with any clarion remote

Weaknesses:
Face plate cases suck Is somewhat slow to read mp3s(takes about 15-20secs to first read a disc, (the time it takes for the deck to realize that it is a mp3 or wma cd)) skipping tracks is instant(1-2 seconds) Does not have a flashy display Are not able to adjust mid-freqs & OH YEAH, only 1.8V output to RCAS

Similar Products Used:
About 4 different other 03' clarion HU, all had similiar results, EXCEPT for the non-proaudio HU's those suck.
