Review 2 of 3

Price Paid:  $0.00 from Hong Kong

Year / Model Reviewed:
2002 ALPINE CDA-7894RB

Summary:
Bought this after i have purchased A macrom amp, speakers and a Kicker subwoofer. In my opinion, this unit is good value for money but sound quality wise, it is not up to scratch. Its short coming in SQ reveals when I upgraded the rest of my system to high end dyns and xtant gear. I've replaced this unit since then.

Strengths:
Good value for money. Can be treated roughly and still runs fine. A lot of features. Alpine head units are always in demand in the used market (from where I come from anyway).

Weaknesses:
Sound quality is ordinary. Even lots of features that comes with this unit won't make up for the lack of SQ.

Review 3 of 3

Price Paid:  $400.00 from Park Audio/Video

Year / Model Reviewed:
2002 Alpine CDA 7894

Summary:
Excellent Reciever, Just the Alpine Reputation is enough, I have purchased a CDA-7863 and it was stolen, I got a CDA 7894 as a replacement. How much better does it get. It was used in a truck, the remote was strong enough to go through the windows.

Strengths:
CD/MP3, 60Wx4 Peak 27x4 RMS, 4 Volt PreOuts. Remote signal very strong.

Weaknesses:
Remote very large
