Year / Model Reviewed:
 Eclipse 5606 in-dash changer

Summary:
Very nice radio. High voltage output. Could change disks quicker, but you make up for it with compact design... it is an in-dash cd changer!!! Super Clear. No internal amp. For the serious audiophile.

Strengths:
Compact design, changer capabilities, in-dash. ESN, High voltage output. super clean radio.

Weaknesses:
slow cd changer

Similar Products Used:

Review 4 of 8

Price Paid:  $600.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
 Eclipse 5650

Summary:
I was supprised to hear of others having problems with this unit. I have enjoyed my purchase of this unit, even though the loading of cd's could be faster. The unit has amazing clarity, and precise controlls. The output voltage is a plus, as well as the security and 3 year warranty.

Strengths:
6 disk in dash, strong tuner, slender remote, 5 volt RCA output, seperate sub out and volume control, good security options, and the 3 year warranty.

Weaknesses:
Slow CD loading, lack of display colors

Similar Products Used:
Kenwood Excelon with 10 disk changer

Review 5 of 8

Price Paid:  $500.00 from Local Dealer

Summary:
I was geeked when I first bought this unit but that quickly turned to frustration. Like others here, I have had problems with the changer getting "hung" up and not playing at all. Thank god I been able to get it to reset and release my CDs. Its still under warranty and I was told, when i bought it, that if it failed it would be replaced with a new unit. Wrong. They are sending a refurbished. Why would I want another unit if I have had numerous problems with the first, much less a rebuilt one. I tried to talk the guy into a credit towards a different model Eclipse but was informed that is not Eclipse's nor the retailer's policy. If i were you I would steer clear of this unit

Strengths:
Good preamp voltage. Simple design Good AM/FM reception

Weaknesses:
serious changer flaws lengthy disc changes

Similar Products Used:
Alpine Sony Kenwood
