Strength:

The car itself is nice to look at. very roomy.

Weakness:

When I first got it the mpg was 19 city and 22 highway, but now I am getting only 13 mpg.

over all I like the style of the pt cruiser, but wish it would get better mpg. I noticed though when I go on long trips the mpgs get better....go figure

Strength:

It's VERY spacious on the inside.

Weakness:

Absolutely everything. :(

I've replaced my heater core, had it towed 4 times, cam sensor replaced 4 times, hot drip on the gas pedal - scalding my foot (I'm guessing the heater core again)! I love my car to death and I find it super cute, but it's such a terrible, terrible car. I've had it since 2008 and it's been nothing but trouble. I get terrible fuel economy for a 4cyl. The only upside for me is that it's adorable on the inside and it has a lot of space for a seemingly small car. Other than that, I can't think of a positive.. :(

Model Reviewed: GT Turbo

Strength:

Tubro performance impressive. Styling with the 17inch GT rims, black body and interior was great

Weakness:

everything but the style

purchase with 45k. Always put winter tires and rims on, factory aluminum rims peeled all over. Ride was so noisy with a combination of squeaks and rattles coming from seemingly all parts of the car, dash, front end, rear end etc.
Replaced every bushing in the front end and still had noise. Another family member has a PT, they have had to replace the air conditioning, head gasket, and front struts. I decided to get rid of it before I was forced into doing the same. Purchased a 2000 honda accord with 200k, and it rides, handles and gets far better gas mileage than the PT.
I have always been loyal to Chrysler, but this is definately my last one.

Strength:

roomy for a small car, lots of leg room. cold a/c, nice dash cluster.

Weakness:

some rattles in the dashboard when its cold

Nice car, small, easy to park in a city. Mine get's good gas milage. I don't have the problems in handling as many others do. If you drive smart and don't mash down on the gas pedal and take corners like you are in a race like most people drive it's fine.
I really like the car, the color, accents, tinted rear windows. It's a nice looking car. but i like old cars anyway.
To me it's just fine and I see nothing wrong with it an any way. I drive a tractor trailer too, so anything feels like cloud nine compared to the bumpy and loud ride in my cab.

Model Reviewed: PT Cruiser Base

Strength:

This is by far the nicest vehicle I have ever owned. It has enormous room inside for its size, enough to haul almost anything, I have had an 8 foot ladder in it, a washing machine etc and it all fits. The style is wonderful, it is reliable, fun to drive, and can be customized to anything you want it to look like. There are so many mods out there you can get lost for on the net for weeks looking at the parts available. There is also a dedicated community out there for those of us who love PT Cruiser!!!!

Weakness:

Fuel economy, but this can be increased with a short ram air intake 40$, and a jet chip.......price varies.

If you want a solid dependable vehicle buy a PT Cruiser, you will not be disappointed.

Model Reviewed: 2.0 limited

Strength:

Very practical and roomier than it looks, uncomparable design

Weakness:

2L motor is very shaky and underpowered, auto transmission archaic, turning radius incredibly wide, paint quality weak

Despite all its negatives, I really like this car, it is not a good logical choice but emotional. It gets more attention than anything on the road (still), I can carry alot of big things with ease but engine is very shaky (may be there is something wrong with my pt) but did not create any failure so far. And if you're in a hurry, this is not the car you're looking for, it is more like sailing a boat rather than racing by a car.

Strength:

Very comfortable and love it for a family vehicle.

Weakness:

None.

I saw there where many people who have complained about this vehicle and it is in my opinion Americans are too spoiled. I love my Pt Cruiser. It is very comfortable and this is after making serveral 8 hour (oneway) trips. I have a family of four and my husband and kids love it as well. We have test driven many vehicles and the Cruiser is my most favorite. As Long as they continue to make them, it is the only vehicle I will ever own. I drive the mountains everyday and it gets really good gas mileage. I get 24 mpg on average. It looks awsome and runs great. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone.

I have never had car I have disliked like i hate this car. I got the car 03/2007, since then it was in the shop 07/2007 and 06/2008 for AC problems. Then it got worse from there. Of course this was after the warrenty was up. The engine blew, the head gasket damaged etc. So took in for repais for that 10/2008. Then 04/2010 issue again with the engine. And now 05/2010 the car is in back in the shop with engine problems. I cant wait to see this car go. By far the worse car ever.

Recently I have rented this car. This is one of the most stupid and crapy piece of ?engineering in history of automobile industry. I have rented and owned over 100 different ?cares over a period of 30 years. This is by far the worse vehicle I have ever driven. The ?steering wheel is made for a sailboat with an incredibly small turning radius. ?
It gets 13mpg in the city. I can not imagine why anyone would buy this vehicle after a ?five minute test drive. Except for an unusual exterior design, there is nothing to this car: ?very poor control when turning, engine performance is very low, transmission sucks, ?seats are very uncomfortable, and breaks are weak. This car is dangerous to drive with a ?terrible side and back view, with blind spots of about 30 degree or so at each side! I ?rented a 2009 model, but it is safe to say that it has the highest road noise compare to any ?other car made in the last ten years in any country. Also, the whole car starts shaking ?when accelerating or driving at any speed above 40 mph. Overall, very poor performance ?on every technical and mechanical parts of this car. ?
