Price Paid:  $22900.00 from Watkin Motors Vernon

Year / Model Reviewed:
2004 Dord Freestar mini van

Summary:
This is a nice vehicle to drive and own

Strengths:
Steers and handles nicely quiet operation on highway

Weaknesses:
Fog Lamps are Hard wired to the Head light switch, Parking lamp position, and Cannot be switched off by vehicle operator In Park position, Nor on High beam, nor on low beam ( poor design for parking and meeting uncoming traffic) Portrays too much light for others. Especially in clear weather. Unit requires installation of an illuminated,Dash Mounted, fog lamp control switch to improve vehicle safety

Review 2 of 336

Price Paid:  $25000.00 from Toms Ford, New Jerse

Year / Model Reviewed:
2003 Windstar Limited

Summary:
Never thought myself to be a minivan person but at the age of 28 married with a 2 year old this van is heaven sent, leather heated seats, Video system, Power Everything who could ask for more. I bought this after I handed in my 2002 explorer one year early (that truck, stay away from, I filed lemon law and won!!) The Service department at toms ford is ABOVE AND BEYOND what I have ever dealt with that is the main reason i went with another ford after the lemon. I have read all the reviews, and I have to say, im not sure they are driveing the same van!

Strengths:
Everything, from the cup holders to the rear vented windows. I'm upset they stopped production of this van. ( not a fan of the freestar )

Weaknesses:
Could use a little more interior room like the dodge but i could live with it, better then having a dodge, lol

Review 4 of 336

Price Paid:  $0.00 from Ford Heavy-Duty Truc

Year / Model Reviewed:
2003 Windstar Limited

Summary:
I love our new 2003 Limited...replaces our 2000 Limited, which we are reluctantly selling, by the way. We thought the 2000 was great but the 2003 is even better and with more fun goodies. Our 2000 is black and now the 2003 is Estate Green and both look great. The 2003 is much smoother a ride and the noise is quieter on the road. (Ford must have been reading these reviews?) We worked with a great dealer to get a good price and we're pleased. Now, I wonder what the 2004 Freestar will be like?

Strengths:
Much quieter cabin, TV screen in ceiling is much nicer (2000's was down on the console), the ride is even smoother, more car like handling and transmission is smoother; seat memory settings are great as are the heated seats. Tailgate is easier to lift now than our 2000 model

Weaknesses:
None I can think of right now

Review 5 of 336

Price Paid:  $22000.00 from Paul Miller

Year / Model Reviewed:
2003 Windstar

Summary:
January 4, 2003, I purchased a 2003 Windstar (2FMZA51473BA52047) from Paul Miller Ford in Lexington, KY. Driving from the dealership, I used the cruise control on the interstate. At Corbin, KY, in exiting from I-75, as I began breaking, the engine began to “rev” up, reaching 4000 to 5000 rpms. It did this three (3) times: once as I was stopping and twice in restarting the vehicle at the intersection, in exiting onto another road. The fourth time I restarted the engine, the engine was all right. January 11, 2003, I was in Greenville, SC, the town of my residence, the engine revved up twice. Once as I was breaking for a traffic light and a second time, as I restarted the engine. In both instances, I turned of the ignition switch off to stop the engine. I reported the problem to Ford and the Ford dealership in Greenville, SC. The dealership placed a black box/flight recorder on the vehicle, but, the engine did not rev up when it was on the vehicle. (The Greenville dealership replaced the emergence brake racket for it was defective.) In the past few weeks, the van, at times, is difficult to stop: it seems as if the power brakes is not operating correctly. Saturday, April 26, 2003, in backing the vehicle, the engine revived up, making this the third time. Ronny Paul Greenville, SC 29607-1138

Strengths:
It is a new vehicle! (I wanted to purchase an American vehicle from an American company.)

Weaknesses:
On three (3) different occasions, when applying the brake, the engine revs up.
