The 2008 Quest is a 4-door, up to 7-passenger mini van, available in 4 trims, ranging from the 3.5 to the 3.5 SE.
Upon introduction, both trims are equipped with a standard 3.5-liter, V6, 235-horsepower engine that achieves 18-mpg in the city and 25-mpg on the highway. A 5-speed automatic transmission is standard.
Summary: Great looking vehicle, roomy, and innovative. We liked the overall appearance and roominess in the vehicle for our three kids (8yr, 5yr, and 1 yr old). Nice and low to ground helps with loading/offloading the kids and grocery, etc. BUT, we've had this thingin the shop 8 times in the last 3 months. We've had isseus with the transmission, leaks around front windshield (gasket problem), the right side passenger door sensor has had to replaced twice already. Most recently, we've noticede that the acceleration is sometime sluggish, and the engines almost dies. After a while, the problem seems to go away. The dealer suggested that we run premium gasoline (had been using mid grade) but that has not made the probelm go away. When this hapens, we;ve noticed a lot of exhaust smoke. On first trip in, service tech replaced throittle sensor...did not fix problem. This time, the repair tech says that the problem may be with the fuel injection system, but is not certain. After changing injectors, problem is STILL happening. The other day I noticed that there was a lot of exhaust residue on my rear panel (next to exhaiust pipe). Service department says nothing is wrong, but engine doesn;t run normally, and gas mileage SUCKS even with premium grade ($3.15 gal) fuel.
Strengths: nice body styling, handling
Weaknesses: weird problems that service cannot diagnose and fix after repeated attempts. Gas mileage

Summary: We compared this with the Honda and Toyota minivans. The Honda's interior screamed '1996', and the Toyota had the same sized engine as the Nissan with 25 less horse power.
Strengths: Nice cockpit layout. Good heat and a/c. Easy to walk around inside. Comfortable seats. Great visibility. Haven't gone on many long trips, but was able to observer 25 MPH on a long stretch.
Weaknesses: The Dealer-David McDavid Nissan of Houston-were complete clowns. There isn't enough room here to explain the problems, but I literally had to STAND ON A TABLE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SHOWROOM AND YELL LIKE A MADMAN TO GET THEM TO DO THEIR JOBS in the following MONTHS after the sale. I will ride the bus before I buy another vehicle from those idiots.
Summary: Have had more troubles than I should for a new car. Twice my car has had to be towed to the dealership from work b/c it wouldn't start...turn out there is a volutary recall on the feul pump. The side passengar electronic door would not close another time....again another voluntary recall. On the second tow they did 8 changes due to recalls. Service has been ok.. no replacement car, and they charged me for tire rotation!!!
Will not buy a Nissan again!!

Summary: I bought a 3 month old quest, and have had the front rotors replaced twice in the 36000 miles on the care, and rear brake only once, the shifter has been replaced twice due to any incline on the tranny in park you can not shift unless you reef on the shifter, tires are one size no one else makes but goodyear at 165.00 each, driver side sliding door always seem to stick, using super unleaded at 3.15 a gal hurt the wallet, recomended by nissan,
Strengths: fun to take on trips, but dont step on the brakes, it will cost you
Weaknesses: bad brakes, should be recalled,

Summary: Great style, great look, like the van but brakes are horrible, constant problems, warping rotors, brake pads worn out.
Strengths: Good quality engine.
Weaknesses: Brake problems, rotors constantly need turning, pads often need replacing. Tires are OEM special size available only at a high price. Steering stake while driving often, even with new tires, brakes constantly a problem with steering wheel shake. Poor customer service at Nissan.
