Review 2 of 6

Price Paid:  $998.00 from eBay

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2001

Summary:
This is definitely worth it if you get a good deal, so do not purchase this at full price! It has a bright large 7" screen that has many display modes (Full, Cinema, Normal, Just, Zoom) and has Dolby Digital 5.1 channel. The DVD player is exceptional and can play everything from DVD, VCD, CD, CDR, CDRW and SVCD except MP3CD. That's why I mated it to a Premier DEHP840MP. The only drawback I find is that the motorized face seems weak when it's opening and closing. However, the automatic tilting angle is perfect for DINs that are positioned high or low in your dashboard. Installation took a long time cuz there are alot of wires to sort out and connect.

Strengths:
7" screen Versatile DVD player Detachable face

Weaknesses:
Weak motorized face Without AVM9000R ($1400), can't maximize potential of this unit

Price Paid:  $1900.00 from friend of a friend o

Year / Model Reviewed:
 avx-p7300dvd and avm-p9000r

Summary:
just got it in at a good price. very pretty display- not at all gaudy. pioneer did a very good job at making the unit tasteful and classy looking even when closed. a lot of associates of mine said that it would take a month or longer to learn the controls, but if you''''ve already familiarised yourself with pioneer products before, you really shouldn''''t have that much trouble. the display is just fancier. great radio reception, fantastic picture quality, a LOT of details to customise your personal listening style. but should you wait for eclipse''''s new single DIN DVD w/ 5.1 due out in july?

Strengths:
excellent picture quality, all the customisable features, single din, sleek look even when closed, 5.1 dolby (w/ the 9000r), crystal clear sound, many many upgradable options available, and the display is "pretty neat-o"

Weaknesses:
somewhat slow visual feedback between menu selections and these goddamn remotes have no bloody range!

Similar Products Used:
clarion in dash tv. clarion tuner, pioneer premier...

Review 4 of 6

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
Like many ppls out there I wanted the kenwood one with the touch screen. I went for this player because it was the only one that I found with a 7" single din dvd player. I would of been nice to have a touvh screen tho. But then I thought to myself do I really want ppl touching there dirty fingers on my dvd player? The GUI feature Is a must. Ppls please get the pioneer AVD-P9000R it''s worth the money! Doby digital really make a diffrence. If your planning to get a PS2 in your car don''t get the AVX-P7300DVD in stead get the AVX-P7300. The AVX-P7300 is just without a dvd player. Since the ps2 is already a dvd player

Strengths:
-7" monitor -Detachible face -One din

Weaknesses:
-The motor for the flip out seem weak, -To many remotes! -Alot of money too be spending for all the components

Similar Products Used:
none

Review 5 of 6

Price Paid:  $1678.00 from http://www.etronics.

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2001 Pioneer AVX-P7300DVD

Summary:
I just installed this DVD player along with the 9000R DTS decoder last Friday (Its now Tuesday). It came as a bundle, (AV-SYS9DVD) DVD Player, DTS Decoder, SR90 Steering Wheel remote. So far I am very happy with it. Picture quality is great, but like any LCD, sunlight is a big factor. Sound is amazing although I do hear a slight hiss out of the speakers. Install was quite a chore in a 2000 Civic Si. There are lots of cables to go with this, and I also added my existing Pioneer XM Satellite receiver.

Strengths:
Great Picture. No problems with any DVD movies I tried so far. Smallest detachable face I have seen. Looks very ordinary when screen is down.

Weaknesses:
Remotes do NOT work well at all, and having to fumble with 3 different ones makes it even harder. I have to hit a button 3 or 4 times on each remote to get it to go, so its not just a problem with one remote, even the steering wheel remote is the same. My old Pioneer DEH-835R''s remote was 100% better. Menus are a little slow moving and there is a learning curve to understanding all the features. Took me about 6 hours total to learn all the different menus and know how to get back to each one. Another possible bad part is the DVD Logo in Silver right in the middle, kind of stands out and anyone looking into your car will notice as well if you leave the face on.
