Review 1 of 2

Price Paid:  $500.00 from sam's

Year / Model Reviewed:
2007 Garmin Nuvi 750

Summary:
I'm having a lot of trouble with delay acquiring satellites. This is my 5th nuvi: two 350's, a 250 and a 660 ...the 750 and 250 are much slower, taking up to 6 minutes to lock on after being off for a few hours. They seems to be faster when off less than a half hour, which makes no sense to me.

Strengths:
pretty, fairly accurate directions, better sound than the 350's

Weaknesses:
Very long startup satellite capture. I plan to return the GPS for refund.

Review 2 of 2

Price Paid:  $497.00 from Sams Club

Year / Model Reviewed:
 Garmin Nuvi 750

Summary:
This is my first Automotive GPS unit. So I have nothing to compare it to. Saying that, I beleive it is a quality GPS. Does everything it claims and does it with great user ease. Wide screen and large icons ie nice. Ability to bounce back and forth between screens with such ease is also very welcomed. The 750 picked up sats. very quickly. It also calculated routes very quickly. I tested the unti by making a few wrong turns and it recalculated quickly. I was impressed with the 750 but as I said before I have nothing to compare it with.

Strengths:
Wide Screen, bright screen, easy to read and navigate. Points of interest. Quickness of Sat. acquisition.

Weaknesses:
When I took a wrong turn the 750 would recalculate quickly but it would plot a route to get you back to your original route instead of recalculating a new route to your destination. Once you had gone far enough to eliminate any way of getting back to your original route the 750 would THEN recalcutlate to your destination. Sometimes the 750 would ask you to go completely around a city block to put you back onto your original route intstead of recalculating to your destination.
