Review 1 of 52

Price Paid:  $20000.00 from North Carolina

Year / Model Reviewed:
2008 Mazda

Summary:
Titan Auto Insurance (5915 Landerbrook Drive, Cleveland, OH 44124-4058) - Nationwide subcompany. Monthly Premiums at around $84.14 for myself alone. Initially quoted at $125 with spouse, then sent a letter increasing monthly premium to $275 without my approval. Delays cancellation and continues unauthorized premium debit charges. Adds exorbitant penalties after cancellation and threatens credit report retalliation.

Strengths:
Low initial premiums.

Weaknesses:
Hidden exceedingly high penalties for cancellation. Delays cancellation while charging premiums. Raises premiums without consent. Processes unauthorized debit transaction for cancelled policy.

Similar Products Used:
Progressive.

Review 2 of 52

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
I had this auto insurance, the rate was competitive but the service was pathetic and then moved to different state and rates zoomed like anything.
After canceling the policy, I got the refund very quickly but it was 50% of what I was expecting. Other problem is customer care is poor can't help for anything but redirect you to local agent.
I did not get the break up or calculation of my refund after giving 15-20 call to agent finally I gave up and sent a fax with the same details but in a very Harsh words and then I got the remaining refund in a week.

Strengths:
rates are good

Weaknesses:
no service , poor customer care, very poor web site.

Similar Products Used:
I will go back to Geico instead.

Review 3 of 52

Price Paid:  $0.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
1999 honda

Summary:
I have noticed on this and other websites folk’s comments consists only complaints and I find it hard to find a fair assessment of any issuers. I can’t help think that some people choose not to read and understand their coverage and get mad when they are suprised that something wasn’t covered. Or when someone is late in payment, getting canceled. Most insurers will cancel you if your late in a payment they don’t mess around. That and I have yet to find an issuers that doesn’t inherently resist or question any claim, afterall no one like writing a check.

I have been with Nationwide for over 9 years had a couple accidents early on and my car was fixed just fine and the entire process is very painless. Their rates are higher than most, but like most things in life; “You get what you pay for.” They’re always courteous and professional, maybe that’s because I am never late in payment.

One down side, as a 30yr old male homeowner with not tickets and no accidents in the past 5 years, I am currently trying to switch b/c Nationwide literally doubled my rates when I purchased a new BMW, granted I anticipated a rate increase with a BMW, but to double my rates? I can’t imagine someone on paper being a more preferred low-risk driver than myself.

Strengths:
Customer Care, Painess process getting vehicles fixed

Weaknesses:
PRICE

Review 5 of 52

Price Paid:  $14999.00 from Parsons Buick

Year / Model Reviewed:
2007 Pontiac/G6

Summary:
Well let's see...where do I start. I purchased a 2007 Pontiac G6 used with roughly 16000 miles on it at point of purchase...car's basically one year old. 3 weeks after, I get in an accident with someone insured by Nationwide. Well according to their policy, they only put aftermarket parts for their repairs. THAT'S A BUNCH OF CRAP! THEIR BS POLICY WAS BECAUSE OF THE MILEAGE...MY CAR WASN'T CONSIDERED NEW...IT'S A 2007! HOW MUCH NEWER DOES IT NEED TO BE!!!!!! I'M REAL GLAD I DON'T HAVE THESE SCUMBAGS AS MY INSURANCE COMPANY. 2 MONTHS LATER AND EVEN GOING THROUGH AN ATTORNEY THE SCUMBAGS STILL WOULDN'T WORK WITH ME. SO NOW I HAD TO GO THROUGH MY OWN COMPANY AND PAY MY DEDUCTIBLE....THANKS NATIONWIDE FOR BEING A THORN IN MY SIDE YOU SCUMBAGS! Trust me if you have them, cancel now because your new car will be replaced with aftermarket or refurbished parts.

Strengths:
ABSOLUTELY NONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Weaknesses:
Customer service by their agents.
