Price Paid:  $125.00 from Ebay

Year / Model Reviewed:
2003 XM-2165GTX

Summary:
This amplifier puts alot of power to the subs. I have two MTX 15" 6000 series subs and they sound great. I would highly recomend this amp to anyone. I agree with every one else it does get hot, but i have never had any problems.

Strengths:
Great price, awsome power

Weaknesses:
none

Similar Products Used:
800 watt pioneer, not near as good.

Review 2 of 5

Price Paid:  $125.00 from from friend who paid

Year / Model Reviewed:
2003 sony 1000 watt

Summary:
I have had this amp for about 2 months and it has been great to me. i have it on 2 12" Logic SoundLab subs rated at 1000rms 2000max and they really pound. i have just upgraded to a kicker zr600 due to the fact that my subs could take alot more and that my sister wanted my amp. now the sony isnt no Kicker but for 125$ it is a great deal.

Strengths:
Looks cool, has enough power for most people, great for the price

Weaknesses:
gets really hot when running high rms subs, almost hot enough to burn your hand.

Similar Products Used:
Legacy,Pyle,JBL,Alpine,Kicker-> (the best so far)

Head unit is a Panasonic CQ-DFX302U cdplayer, Audio Control Epicenter, Audio Control EQL Concert Series, Tsunami 4G. wiring, 150A-anl fuse, Lighting Audio 1F. cap, Sony XM2165GTX Amp, and then 2 12" JLAudio W3v2 8ohm subs in a 1.5 cubic ft./per sealed box in a 2001 VW Jetta. First place in local comp. This amp never heats up even after 4hrs of cruising at South Padre Island Spring Break '04. I really recommend this amp to anyone on a budget. I love it!

Price Paid:  $122.00 from www.etronics.com

Year / Model Reviewed:
2003 XM-2165GTX

Summary:
People can talk all they want about Sony, but this amp is great! I get clear and powerful bass with no problems! This amp puts out 400W RMS (1000W Max) briged! It has no problem powering my Audiobahn 12" (AW121T) Sub (550 RMS, 1100Max).

Strengths:
Clear and powerful bass! Esp. for the price! Neat and functional design.

Weaknesses:
Gets Hot! (hasn't overheated though)

Review 5 of 5

Price Paid:  $200.00 from circuitcity

Year / Model Reviewed:
2003 XM-2165GTX

Summary:
This amp is really not bad for the price. I have heard things from my friends saying sony is bad, blah blah. This amp is great. 165watts rms in 4-ohm mode for 200 bucks is such a deal at the 200 dollar price range. Highest RMS at this price. I am pushing two Infinity Kappa 120.3se's in a ported q-logic box. No Complaints at all. I do not even have the bass turned all the way up and it hits extremely hard.

Strengths:
Powerful for the price, cool looks, functional heatsink

Weaknesses:
Heats up, getting sh*t from people for using a sony
