from eBay Year / Model Reviewed: 2002 MTX Thunder 801D Summary: Tiny, and I mean MINUSCULE amplifier for the power it puts out. It is rated 250 watts rms at 4ohms, and 500 watts rms at 2 ohms. And I believe it. The thing POUNDS. Back in the day, I had a ENORMOUS HiFonics Isis. It was a cheater amp. A '100 watt' amp that happened to be 18" long. It actually put out somewhere in the neighborhood of 800 watts rms because it was 1/2 ohm stable.
This amp performs 95% of that HiFonics did. Strengths: TINY Footprint. Won't destroy your electrical system. Weaknesses: Only 2 ohm stable. Similar Products Used: HiFonics, Orion, Rockford Fosgate, Alpine, PPI, Zapco
