Review 1 of 3

Price Paid:  $350.00 from Techtonics Tuning we

Year / Model Reviewed:
 Techtonics Tuning 2.5" catback

Summary:
Review of 2.5" aluminized catback exhaust for A4 VW models (Jetta, Golf, New Beetle) with Borla muffler and visible exhaust tip (stainless versions are also available at additional cost w/Borla or Flowmaster muffler and hidden or visible tips). System shipped in 3 pieces: front section w/resonator, Borla stainless steel muffler, tailpipe. 3 clamps with integral hangers are also included. Ease of installation: Moderately easy. The most difficult part was cutting the stock system in order to remove it. TT system pieces are of high quality and fit well, although a couple of trial adjustments prior to final tightening were needed to keep system from contacting axle and underbody heat shields. Would have been easier for me if the car was on a lift; I had to do job with rear of car on jackstands. Tone was definitely louder than stock (but stock system is almost silent), but still smooth and relatively stealthy. Overall, still a quiet system while adding a few horsepower over very restrictive stock system. Also quite a few pounds lighter!

Strengths:
* Smooth full mandrel bends * Full stainless Borla muffler w/2.5" in/out * Easy to install at home * Can remain clamped together or welded if desired * Smooth, low-pitched tone that doesn't invite alot of attention * Less restrictive than stock system * Great value

Weaknesses:
* Aluminized pipes won't last as long as stainless * May not be loud enough for some

Review 2 of 3

Year / Model Reviewed:
 1991 Honda Civic CRX Si

Summary:
Excellent product. One of the best exhausts out there right now.
Power increase that can be felt at the wheels. High quality product
that yields a noticeable power increase. Helps even more when
you have intake and headers. Excellent product.

Strengths:
Incredible sound and performance. Does not drone like other mufflers
Remains quiet at idle and under full acceleration. Very subtle but
noticeable exhaust note. Free flowing, very smooth rev band.

Weaknesses:
Only muffler is stainless steel.

Similar Products Used:
Tenzo exhaust - too loud and drony.

boomy or intrusive, large power increase.

Weaknesses:
nothing really
