Review 1 of 16

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
I have used it about one month. It seems to work OK, but it is important to know what type of signal is being detecting and it is impossible to read the screen in bright daylight. The next radar detector I buy will have different colored lights that show what kind of signal is being detected, like the detector my wife has.

Strengths:
Cordless. Couldn't be easier to use.

Weaknesses:
Cannot read the screen in bright daylight. Way too dim. Useless.

Review 2 of 16

Price Paid:  $262.00 from The Source (canadian

Year / Model Reviewed:
2006 Escort Solo Cordless

Summary:
When i baught the unit i had it running in less than 4 minutes after reading the manual and i picked up a signal and watched the cop pass me 30 seconds later. It picks up good from behind cops and when cops are behind you.. which is very important. It DOES go through buildings and whatever might get in its way even though the book says it wont. It isnt as sensitive to KA as most other radars. Although it will pick up grocery store detectors you have to be very close to it.

Strengths:
Long Range
Small range of false alarms
Cordless/Corded - I like to plug it in anyways
Not bad price for the second best radar detector out there.

Weaknesses:
Does pick up false alarms sometimes.. won't work in some places on your window.

Similar Products Used:
Whistler, Cobra, Valentine One

Review 3 of 16

Price Paid:  $330.00 from E-Bay

Year / Model Reviewed:
2003 Escort Solo S2

Summary:
I drive about 45,000 per year as an insurance appraiser. What I don't need is to worry about getting a speeding ticket, and I don't. If you are going to seriously use this device you must be intelligent enought to read the manual and learn to use it correctly. Once you know how to use it, nothing is better!

Strengths:
IT WORKS, very well!

Weaknesses:
Price is a hit in the wallet, but worth it. If you aren't going to read and learn to use it correctly, save your money (you'll need the money to pay your tickets as I pass you and the cop!)

Similar Products Used:
I used several cheep products that were worthless.

Strengths:
Ability to turn off X band

Weaknesses:
Overly sensitive on X band. Not able to turn off SWS alerts. Absolutely no sensitivity to Ka band radar.

Review 5 of 16

Price Paid:  $200.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
2002 passport solo

Summary:
Perfect for concealment! No cordss dangling. I don't know what those guys mean by "eating batteries." I drove From Seattle to California and back on one set. A round trip of nearly 2000 miles! I presset the unit to bypass the start up sequence of beeps. I am seriously considering the solo 2 as an upgrade.

Strengths:
Hides well with no cord. Disabled X band so there are few false alarms. Has auto mute. I have yet to get pulled over.

Weaknesses:
Not real sensitive. When it beeps, get on the brakes immediately. I'm sure v1 is better, butI like the stealth.

Similar Products Used:
Bell makes one that I threw away. WAy too many false alarms.
