Summary:
I bought the car used with about 26,000 miles on it(one previous owner)and have had the car a little over a month and have experience the cars entire power system going dead while traveling down the road. It will happen as soon as I either turn my turn signals on, apply my brakes, turn my head lights on, or flash my head lights. What really scared the crap out of me was the power completely died one NIGHT while traveling from one major interstate highway on a cloverleaf ramp onto a beltway interstate. I had lights, not even emergency flashers. It was like the power to your entire house being cut off. I was able to come to a complete stop upon which I managed to open the hood of the car and jiggled battery wires ontop of the battery and suddenly the power was restored. This is the only fault I have had with this car to date. but after reading some of the previous reviews I'm probably in for more problems shall we say "down the road"?

Had a 1997 Geo Metro. should have kept it. At least it didn't die on me while traveling somewhere. Truely a dependable little car. It just didn't have airconditioning (3 cyl.)

Not a good car, I do not feel safe driving this car.

Weaknesses:
This car is so noisy, I'm only using this as a rental while mine is repaired but I would never purchase this car. The steering wheel shakes violently when I get to 70mph (this is the legal speed limit). There are numerous blind spots which make this a dangerous car as well. I've read where this is a first car for many teens - if you love your teen please don't give them this car. This is a brand new car and the seats are flat also.

I have had both an Accord and Civic and never had trouble with either. Got rid of the Accord when my lease was up, traded the Civic when I had my first child - needed a little bit more room.

it''s an okay vehicle, good enough to be used during warranty protection. but i personally wouldn''t buy one.

peppy engine, pretty comfortable ride, nice sound system

Weaknesses:
transmission sux, cheap material inside, engine''s not refined enough, not heavy enough to be cruising at 90mph without feeling like being blown away by the wind

Taken from CAR magazine, Jan 2000. "Neon is an inert gas, and its automotive namesake is a similarly empty experience. Equipment levels are good, 2.0 litre engines willing and there''s a very nice warranty. But nasty to drive, cheaply constructed and too expensive for its bottom-end market. SPEC NOTES: Cheap is the only sensible way here, and the entry-level 2.0 is a lot of car for the money. RIVALS: Hyundai Elantra. OUR CHOICE: Nope. As harsh as the strip light it''s named after.
