Review 2 of 28

Price Paid:  $26000.00 from Kia of Des Moines

Year / Model Reviewed:
2006 Sorrento

Summary:
This suv is the biggest piece of crap ever. It had only 2k on it when we started having problems. The lights in the shifter went out. Then it sprung a leak of engine coolant. Next it started to shift funny, we had it into the dealership several times before they ever resolved that issue. They put us in a filthy, smokey, sorrento as a rental. It was so bad, I wouldnt put my kid in it. Then it starts stalling just out of nowhere. We took it to the dealership several times, and of course when they get the car, they cant (duplicate the problem). In other words your stuck with it, cause we cant figure it out. I hope it doesnt stall on my wife when she is on the interstate. They had to replace the seats because they were wearing out ,it didnt have but 9,000 miles on it. It also screams like a pig when you start it and drive it. Could not duplicate that problem either. I have that on video several times. It is pretty bad when you have had a car less than a year, and have had so many problems, and need to take the time to video them. We have been to the dealership at least 10 times for problems. I know im forgetting other issues but it is my wifes car and she has all the paperwork. The kia customer service is terrible. It is like talking to a robot. Dont ever buy a kia

Strengths:
none

Weaknesses:
cheap, poor customer service

2005 KIA SORRENTO

Summary:
I PURCHASED MY SORRENTO NEW IN 05. I WANTED A 4X4 SUV W/ENOUGH ROOM FOR 3 KIDS. I WAS HAPPY IN THE BEGINNING NOW THAT I HAVE HAD IT FOR ABOUT 2 YEARS AND HAVE PUT 42,070 MILES THE MOTOR IS BLOWN OUT OF NOWHERE!!! THE DEALERSHIP MADE ME PROVE I MAINTAINED IT AND FINALLY DECIDED IT WOULD BE COVERED UNDER WARRENTY. NOW, THEY HAVE HAD MY TRUCK FOR 2 WEEKS, GAVE ME A CRAPPY RENTAL CAR WHICH IS NOT WHAT I AM PAYING FOR EVERY MONTH AND TOLD ME THAT IT WAS ALL THEY WERE GIVING ME AND THAT THEY ONLY COVERED UP TO $30 A DAY ON A LOANER SO I WAS OUT OF LUCK THAT I COULD NOT HAVE ANOTHER SORRENTO UNTIL MINE IS BEING FIXED!!! NOW, THEY TOLD ME THAT I WOULD HAVE MY TRUCK BACK TODAY AND THEY STILL HAVEN'T FIXED IT!!! THEY SAID THAT THE MOTOR THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED IS ON BACK ORDER AND I WILL NOT GET MY TRUCK BACK FOR ANOTHER MONTH!!! WHAT A JOKE??? ON BACK ORDER??? HMMMM IS EVERYONE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM??? COME TO FIND OUT, ANOTHER WOMAN IN TOWN THAT I FOUND OUT ABOUT FROM OUR LOCAL GARAGE HAS ALREADY HAD HER TRANSMISSION REPLACED AND HER'S IS THE SAME YEAR, 2005 ONLY HER'S IS AN AUTOMATIC, MINE A STANDARD. THE DOME LIGHTS DO NOT WORK IN MY TRUCK ANYMORE EITHER AND NEITHER DO ANY OF MY CONSOLE LIGHT FOR A FEW MONTHS NOW!!! ANYWAY, WHEN THIS THING IF FINALLY FIXED, IT'S GETTING TRADED IN. OH! THAT'S ANOTHER THING! THEY AREN'T WORTH ANYTHING WHEN YOU TRADE THEM IN EITHER!!!A 2 YEAR OLD VEHICLE W/ONLY 42,000 SHOULD NOT HAVE A BLOWN MOTOR!!! WHAT A PIECE OF CRAP!!!!!

Strengths:
IT LOOKS NICE,AND IS CHEAPER THEN MANY OTHER SUVS.....OH BUT GUESS WHAT????YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.....CRAP!!!!!

Year / Model Reviewed:
2007 Kia Sorrento

Summary:
I only test drove the Sorrento LX last night. WOW!

Strengths:
Touch the gas and look out - this goes really fast!! Also, the pickup on it is better than my Infiniti QX4 - no kidding!

Weaknesses:
Interior still felt a little like a low priced car, but it's nice. I test drove the deluxe model with heated seats, CD player, etc.

I also have had many brake & headlight replacements. My rotors are warped. have been they kept saying nothing wrong..I know a shudder at breaking when felt. My airbag lights sensor, my radio, my clock dome lights now front door dome light trigger. ALL same as others.HOW CAN THEY NOT COVER THEM its obvious its a manufactor or parts issue. I also had A/C issues, Vacuum issues..Poor gas for size car 15/20. I didn't get the 4x4 to save gas big deal. I love steering & handling I'll join a suit for repairs.

Strengths:
tight steering, sturdy in wind,

Weaknesses:
bulb electrical, manufacturer responsibilty,
