Review 2 of 3

Summary:
I have recently purchased this unit, and must honestly say that it the best head unit/CD changer combo I have ever heard, and believe me I've heard alot. The quality of this changer along with an eclipse cassette deck is just perfect for my needs, since there are some old tapes I still listen to at times. The sound quality is this units strongest attribute, in that it reproduces CD data so well that you will notice a volume increase as well. The only thing that takes some getting use to is the time that it takes for the changer to change disks, but if you take into consideration the size of this unit, you will understand. Finally, with the ESN security system you will have some peace of mind to a certain degree and the benefit of not having to remove the unit or it's face. Try it, you'll like it.

Review 3 of 3

Summary:
I have owned a 5961 for about eight months and find it to be a superb unit. Besides being attractive it is quiet, integrates well into my dash (Mitsubishi Montero) and is a mechanical marvel. The unit itself requires an eclipse head unit, but once you have experienced these pieces you'll find that this is a blessing rather that a curse. The musicality of the 5961 is the strong point here, there is virtually no loss of signal quality when listening to this unit being controlled by a 5303r. The controls are well integrated and the disc change times are reasonable. This unit isn't going to win any speed contests in the disc switching olympics but the times are tolerable. One can directly go to any disc at any time by depressing one of the direct input buttons for a corresponding disc. The current disc will stop, unload and reload your chosen selection. You can even listen to the tuner in the interim if you desire, but it really doesn't take that long. The unit is beautiful and the technological capabilities are gold medal quality. Combine that with the warranty and you have one of the most advanced systems on the block that sounds pretty doggone good. Highly recommended for those withe the deep pockets. I don't suggest that the casual listener apply, you will overspend. Excellent addition for the high quality sedans and sport cars out there. The combination I have requires a separate outboard amplifier (orion cobalt 235).
