Review 1 of 1

Price Paid:  $1000.00 from Winchester, VA

Summary:
Price paid included installation by dealer. For the most part the unit is excellent.

Two complaints though. Store bought DVD's jam/stick frequently (standard factory labels not the stickers from copied DVD's). No provision for owners removing jammed DVD's. Presently stuck DVD will NOT come out. The unit has to go to dealer (over an hour travel each way). Dealer will have to remove unit and send to Soundstream for repair. When it returns another 1 hour each way to have unit reinstalled. I am very disappointed in this lack of planning by the manufacturer as they certainly know that this will occur.

Headphones power button very sensitive and while turned on by slightest move will drain batteries quickly.

When it works properly it is fantastic. However, it often does not work due to DVD's jamming inside unit.

Strengths:
Plays well when working. Very good picture and sound.

Weaknesses:
DVD's stick/jam easily and often. No provision for removal by owner. Turning power on and off sometimes helps but this is not in the manual. Service tech information over the telephone. Does not always work.

Headphones very nice but power button comes on too easily from bumping, etc. and drains batteries quickly when this happens. Keep a good stock of AAA batteries in the vehicle.

Similar Products Used:
Several portable DVD players all split to remove DVD's easily.
