Review 1 of 276

Price Paid:  $23500.00 from Mel Calyton Ford

Year / Model Reviewed:
2006 Ford Escape

Summary:
Love the car. Owned since 10/05. Good milage--23/25 if kept at 70mph. Also 2 wheel drive. Handles nice. Lots of pep. Maybe a little bit rough ride, but that is ok. Treat like a truck--and do the prescribed maintainance. Used on gravel desert roads a fair amount so things rattle a bit. Still great traction with good clearance. Only major item that went out was the AC @ 55000. Now @ 75000 most of which is highway milage in the Phoenix heat.
Tires wear well. Love the roomy interior. No clostrophobia her at all. Radio is good with Sirius. Overall a great vehicle, would buy another--especially since I heard milage improved to 28mpg

Strengths:
Durable. Milage. Split back seats.

Weaknesses:
AC went out at 55K. Heard the transmission may be bad in the 2006 model year, but have not experianced that.

Review 2 of 276

Price Paid:  $27000.00 from Fourlane Ford

Year / Model Reviewed:
2008 Ford Escape, LTD, 4x4

Summary:
Great vehicle. Love the leather, and sirrius radio. Good gas mileage. Increadible traction in snow, and great off road ablility while maintaining good on road handling. This little SUV gives the feel of a big rig, until you get into tight spaces such as a parking lot, then it turns on a dime and makes parking in tight spaces a breeze. The V6 makes good power (200 hp) but I tow a 16ft camper trailer, and could use a bit more power. The 2009 have 220 HP, and that should solve the horse power concern. The only other complaint I have is with the after market parts. There are very few places to purchase after market parts, such as Cat Back Exhaust, chrome door handles etc. maybe they just need time to catch up. This is a great vehicle, much better than I expected

Strengths:
Style, comfort, gas mileage, traction, comfort.

Weaknesses:
poor after market support.

Review 4 of 276

Price Paid:  $24600.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
2008 escape

Summary:
Ecellent! Ford got it right on this one. It's a great 4x4 at a great price. I was concidering a few other s.u.v but we're happy with our chouice and the price was outstanding (alot of bang for the buck) this is the third one I've owned so far.

Strengths:
great appointments and more car for the money. never a problem just routine maintanance.

Weaknesses:
Could use more cargo room, but i guess thats the charm of this vehicle. It's size I didnt want a full size truck.

Similar Products Used:
I looked at the rav 4 the kia and the crv. The rav 4 and the crv are way over rated just not a good value. In my oppinion the Escape was a much better buy.

Review 5 of 276

Price Paid:  $21000.00 from freeway ford

Year / Model Reviewed:
2003 ford escape

Summary:
I loved my escape. I had the car for 5 years and just hit 55,000 miles. It drove great, it drove smooth, and I had no major problems with it. I think the only thing that I had problems with was the back windshield wiper and the back lock needed repair.
As far as safety goes I would say that I walked away unharmed. This week I had a head on collision that proceeded to flip my escape over. I was able to crawl out, leaving the accident with a cut.
I loved my car, and would consider buying another one.

Strengths:
Great ride, safety features.

Weaknesses:
back windshield wiper
