Price Paid:  $0.00 from Rosenthal Land Rover

Year / Model Reviewed:
2002 DISCO II

Summary:
I owned my DISCO for the past 3 years. The lease is up and I have decided to move on to the RR Sport. The dealer tried to talk me into the LR3 but after a test drive of the RR Sport I knew it was the one. I truly believe that it will be well worth the $62K. I had no major problems with my DISCO. I cracked a couple of headlights from rocks and the gas tank latch broke but other than that I LOVED they way it performed. I used it to tow a trailer with motorcycles on it and it even performed well in the mountains of West Virginia. I can't wait to get my new RR Sport out on the road. I have never done any off road riding so I don't have any complaints. If they were still making the DISCO I might but another. I enjoyed the dual sunroofs more than anything. I saw this truck over 11 years ago and decided then that I would buy one. At the time I purchased the DISCO the RR was out of my price range. Now that I can afford it I have made my mind up. There is no other truck out there that can compare. I have driven them all. The RR gives you a very classic look. Of course gas is high but if you are going to drive a SUV you are going to pay in GAS! I love my ROVER!

Strengths:
Style, Handle, Look,

Weaknesses:
Gas but that is with any SUV.

Review 2 of 4

Price Paid:  $80000.00 from LAND ROVER REDWOOD C

Summary:
The Range Rover is definitely not a vehicle for the masses like the Fords or the Chevys and even some of the import brands. It has a lot going for itself and not just because of the marqee. It is a very capable off road vehicle and has well mannered on road handling for such a ride. Its the only vehicle in its class that feels like your driving a Raised up Rolls Royce yet can climb pretty much anything reasonable you can put up to it. Hummers have there strengths too, but its just too spartan and no very comfortable for such a car esp. when you consider how much you pay for one. H2 was allright but it just seems like a poor attempt in mimicking a real HUMMER the H1. Mercedes G wagen, not bad, but I'd rather stick to the cars which I have. Toyota and lexus have good if no great products but they were just too common for our tastes and didn't strike us as unique enough plus the salespeople were terrible and rude, what a turnoff, which brings us to the Land Rover Range Rover, a tried and true unique, rare and capable vehicle that requires no introduction, new one is okay, but since being owned by Ford now, have to question the lack of parts or parts being used in such a unique vehicle, hope ford keeps it special otherwise it may head for the hills. But otherwise, if you do have the extra dough around, and don't want to be like everyone else on the block, but dont want to be treated like some type of moviestar all the time , though several stars do own Land Rovers, than I would suggest such a vehicle for your taste. A very pleasant SUV that makes the cut for many things. Just be sure, its something you really can afford and be happy with otherwise it can get to you if you let it.

Strengths:
off road capability, classic elegant looks, dealer service, customer service, rarity, only seven thousand built per year, four by four heritage, exclusivity, top line edition, panache and respect for its heritage and appointments, interior, Harman kardon sound system very nice, safe, very safe and solid, insurance rates it very good in terms of safety so easy on rates, fits seven with optional rear jump seats, tried and true classic V8 engine

Weaknesses:
none other than it could use some HP but that can be all taken care of if you drive defensively

Similar Products Used:
Hummer H1 and H2, Mercedes G wagen, Toyota Land Cruiser, Lexus LX 470

Review 4 of 4

Price Paid:  $154000.00 from Loggerhead Rover Cen

Year / Model Reviewed:
2002 / HSE

Summary:
Must say that this is the total awesome snob SUV! A good friend of mine in SC named Dr. Wopifen suggested the truck to appeal to my growing need for ego inflation and a syndrome known only to a few called "mineisbiggerthanyours." I wish everyone had the opportunity to own one of these quite fine vehicles! I am certainly glad that I forked over 150,000 big bucks for a car! I could have bought a beach house or lake house for this price. But then again, mine is bigger than yous!

Strengths:
Power, acceleration, front end support, agility at slower speeds, smell of leather and British snobbery!

Weaknesses:
Gas mileage, of course. But I have more than enough money from my fraudulant medical practice to pay for any problems!

Similar Products Used:
Jeep Cherokee, but that is a common persons car. Dr. Wopifen says that Jeeps are for wimps. Only the big boys drive rovers! I sure like my friend!
