from Land Rover of Seattl Year / Model Reviewed: 2005 Land Rover Freelander Summary: I have almost a year in this thing, and there has yet to be a mechanical fault. Its great to drive, although slightly underpowered. The interior is great. Compared to the likes of a Ford Explorer, it is a Jaguar! Brilliant to drive on the road, competent for its size off road.
I use it to tow a camper, so it is a shame the towing capacity isn't higher, but it does a great job with the one I have. Strengths: Nice looking, feels solid on the road, great interior, drives better than any other SUV at anything like its price. Weaknesses: Needs more horsepower, and a higher towing capacity would be nice. Otherwise, I am loving it.
I must say, it seems there are two Freelander assembly lines - people either love their cars or hate them. But it must be ssaid that many of the complaints are unfair. Complain about the driving position or the cup holder? Did you drive the car at all before you bought it? Complain about the ride on the road? Have you ever driven an SUV before? Nothing in this class, including ALL of the japanese models comes anywhere close to this thing in ride. What are you people talking about?! Similar Products Used: Ford Explorer - not remotely close to the Land Rover
