Price Paid:  $184.00 from Tweeter Audio

Year / Model Reviewed:
2006 Focal Access 165a

Summary:
I have used many styles and brands of speakers in my 18 year car audio career. Nothing has even ome close to the all around performance of these components. The highs (1" inverted dome) are CRYSTAL clear (adjustable
-6db,-3db or 0db tweeter crossover)for the sensitive hearing. I have 100 watts pumping to each and they are hardly working. Rated for only 60W RMS, but set amp x-over to around 100 Hz and they sing. Mids (6.5") are full and nice sounding. I am listen to a WIDE array of music, Mozart to Pantera and these take anything I put into them with no effort. Mind you I am rating these on the bang for the buck theory. These were rated #1 6.5" component set for 2005

Bottom line, sweet and smooth sound. If you are looking for components $240-$280 range, look no farther in my opinion. Take a Dave Matthews Band CD to your local dealer and listen to these at a nice moderate volume. You will hear every guitar strum, drum beat, shimmering cymbal crash and the bow pull across every string on the violin. Two thumbs up.

Strengths:
Like you music clean? Like your music to be "in the front row" sensational? Then these are what you need.

Weaknesses:
Not typically sized, can be a pain to get right mounting size for factory fit and look for the do-it-yourselfer. Can be pricey if you do not shop around a bit. Do NOT expect these to BUMP the low end, need subs to fill bottom end.
