from Magnolia Hi-Fi Year / Model Reviewed: 2003 M361i Summary: My 240 SXSE came with six drivers. Four mid-range 2 Ohm Clarions, one in each door and two in the rear window, and some clarion tweeters in windshield posts. The two in the door blew out due to my cranking the stock CD player beyond its ability to deliver clean power.
I was in a rush, dropped by Magnolia Hi-Fi and just asked a salesguy there to pick out some high value to cost ratio replacement door speakers. Did he pick right.
If anyone is doubting purchasing these speakers as a direct replacement door speaker - don't doubt it for a minute that once they are in, you'll KNOW it was one of your best decisions. As a review on these above mentioned, you will hear your music for the first time in your car if you've been living with a stock door speaker.
I didn't change anything else with the system - no wiring upgrades,no new enclosures, no nothin'.
The only thing I'm sorry about is how long it took me. I just had no idea how much difference there could possibly be.
Listen to your music for the first time and invest in these if you have a chance. Strengths: Unbelievable detail and "imaging". ( I had no idea what that meant until I listened to these.) Weaknesses: If I were to complain about anything it would be how the lazer like clarity is so slean when you first put them in, it almost seems like your ears hurt. Similar Products Used: none.
