Review 1 of 8

Price Paid:  $87.00 from www.etronics.com

Year / Model Reviewed:
2003 Infinity Kappa 5x7 572.5cf

Summary:
Overall these speakers have great clarity. I used a JBL 180.2 to power these. My head unit is a Pioneer deh-9600mp. They are excellent speakers if you don't plan to have lower mid-bass.

Strengths:
Go pretty loud for coaxials. Clarity.

Weaknesses:
Lack of bass. The woofers tend to bottom out at higher volumes without a high crossover point. 100hz seems to be the best point for them to be crossed at.

Other pairs in a few different vehicles, Pioneer 6.5's/6x9's...

Review 2 of 8

Price Paid:  $300.00 from Crutchfield (mistake

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2002

Summary:
Good speakers that sound great but definately hook yourself up with a good set of subs to make up for the lack of pounding bass. I got a few bad speakers but Crutchfield was cool with replacing them. Overall best speakers without getting into component systems.

Strengths:
Included crossover and takes the most power of any speaker I could find.

Weaknesses:
Not the greatest bass and have to run an amp to them unless you have a beastly head unit.

Infinity Reference (for about a week)

Review 3 of 8

Price Paid:  $150.00 from Crutchfield

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2000 Mustang

Summary:
If you are running an extremely loud system don''t put these in your car. They can''t handle any bass. I have used 4 diffrent pairs in my car and all the cones rattle loose in less than three months. I had them running off a Pioneer Premier 930. I even used bass blockers on them to filter out the htz. No matter what they will rattle loose eventually

Strengths:
Great sounding highs and mids.

Weaknesses:
Don''t handle bass very well. Cones will rarrle loose in a couple of months with moderate use.

Similar Products Used:
none. If their are any better please e-mail me and let me know.

Review 4 of 8

Price Paid:  $75.00

Summary:
Basically, my car is a piece of sh*t (perfect condition, just a overall crap car). Looks like I am going to keep it through college so I decided to treat myself to a set of speakers to make riding in the piece a little more enjoyable. The stock speakers were basically a Dixie cup with a small magnet, so pretty much anything is going to sound better. I compared speakers at Best Buy, Stereo King, CarToys and I found that the Infinity speakers sound better - by far. I plopped the speakers in and I was truely amazed what a difference they made. Value of my car is up 15% with these in!!
Go on eBay and buy a pair. They are brand new and I paid $35 less (includes shipping) on eBay than at any of the stores. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

Strengths:
Amazing overall sound, especially considering the price paid. The Pioneers I compared with couldn't hold a candle to the Infinity.

Weaknesses:
At high volumes the highs can be pretty biting and it seems as though the bass kind of fades out.

Pioneer

Review 5 of 8

Price Paid:  $83.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
 Infinity Kappa 572.1cf

Summary:
These are excellent speakers. Unless you want to shell out for components and I mean really good ones, these are the 5x7 deal....Hook these up to a clean amp and enjoy....

Strengths:
These speakers are by far the best 5x7 speaker on the market today. They sound great in my van. Currently I'm running them off my high powered deck and they sound great till I really need to crank, then my HP deck cuts them short. The tweeters in these are better than many component tweets and the bass is also crisp and smooth. I run these off my Alpine 7863 and my settings on my head unit are usually +1 for bass and +2 for treble. Enough said. I see theselasting a long while. Wonder if the others hooked theirs up wrong or beat them to death by using a head unit that wasn't suffice.

Weaknesses:
Does use a lot of power to run these but many other components such as MB Quart at 599.00 has a worst efficiency rating at 86db compared to 89 db.

Similar Products Used:
I considered the Polks DX7 and am glad I didn't get them. Heard them in my friends car with basically the same head unit as mine and it definitely wasn't as good and they cost about 20.00 a pair more.
