from usavemoney.com Year / Model Reviewed: 2002/32.5cf Summary: I noted the less than pleasing performance on another review, used sbenedict4 as my email address. I elected to replace the Infinity junk crossover resulting in superior results. First, use air core inductors and good polypropelene capacitors to wake these speakers up. Tweeter- Start with a 4.7uF cap in series with the tweeter (+) lead (audio in one side of capacitor, tweeter connected to the other side of capacitor). Then, install a .55uH inductor from (+) to (-) on the 'tweeter side' of the cap. Next, install a 4 to 6 ohm Mills or other quality resistor between the lead from the inductor & capacitor junction to the tweeter (+) terminal. 4 Ohms removes the 'screaching' sound, 6 ohms tames it to somewhat mild. Woofer: install a .3uF inductor in the speaker (+) lead (or in series, ie just another way to explain). Install a 9.1uF from the speaker (+) to the speaker (-). This crossover is only a two way, but far superior to the Infinity crossover. The speaker sounds well controlled, detailed and balanced. Infinity should spend another $5 on the crossovers and ship a quality product. With the above changes, I will rerate the speaker performance as if the new crossover came with the speaker set. Strengths: With a new crossover, midrange & high frequency details are acceptable. Weaknesses: Bass, however 3.5 inches gives midrange details. Similar Products Used: Too many to list.
