Review 1 of 2

Price Paid:  $45.00 from Ikesound.com

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2002

Summary:
These sound as good as my Infinity Kappa 5 x 7 speakers. The bass response isn't the greatest, but when you are hitting 140 db and above, it doesn't matter.

Strengths:
Doesn't distort or sound muddy at high volumes. Put any amount of watts to it and it will sound good.

Weaknesses:
None

Review 2 of 2

Price Paid:  $99.00 from Crutchfield

Year / Model Reviewed:
 1995 Ford F150

Summary:
I had originally purchased a pair of Polk dX7''s because I have always loved Polk''s sound and they were on sale at Crutchfield. These were to replace factory speakers since I had already upgraded the head unit with a Pioneer 45w/ch CD receiver. I was disappointed in the performance of the dX7, probably because their sensitivity rating is only 89 db and I didn''t want to add another amp. Called Crutchfield (great people to deal with but generally overpriced) and told them of my dilemma. They suggested the JBL''s. It was an even exchange and they had them to me in 2 days! After installing, I couldn''t believe the difference! I was looking for more bass and I got it..sensitivity is 92 db on the JBL''s. The highs are a bit on the unnatural side, but they''re in the rear and I have the Polk dX6''s in the front which have the most realistic highs and mids I have ever heard. This is a very nice combination and is highly recommended if your just considering replacing factory gear.

Strengths:
Good low end for its size; efficient

Weaknesses:
average highs
