Strength:

sounds great for a sub thats 8yr old and used Excelent Quallity products
dual 4om coils make for easy hook up for either 2ohm if paralell wired or 8ohms if series wired
500 watts rms 1000 watts max is just under its actual capabillities - unlike other manufacturers that rate their product to handle 250 watts rms and 1000 watts max and start smoking with only 100 rms watts - ORION sells EXACTLYHAT THEY ADVERTISE not just words written down
I compare this sub - even being old - to the new KICKER Comp VR 15 sub
to get the same power output of this sub from Rockford Fosgate youd start with the Power Series T1 15 - well over $400 each

Weakness:

magnet is small compared to current modles
but was considered big when they came out

have 1 that hits over 140 with MA Audio M1900XE 1000 watt amp @ 2ohms 3.586 ft3 enclosure (3 ft3 after sub displacement)tuned @ 25hz
adding 1 more to the mix along with another MA Audio M1900XE will be mid 140s or more

Strength:

Hit real hard! will hold there own in there price range. Will hold the advertised power and a little more. They have a good low bass.

Weakness:

Sq a little but not really

I used a menphis 1000d to push both of them.It maxes the speakers when needed. The speakers sound real good but lack the sq of JL audio. They hit as hard as most your high end stuff.I am hitting 157.4 with two of them.

Strength:

1. TOUGH cone.
2. Rubber surround.
3. 2.5" voice coil. Most speakers come with 2" coils.
4. Vented pole piece.
5. HUGE magnet. I can palm a basketball and my hands aren't as big as the magnet!
6. Gotta love the DVC, just like having 2 speakers in 1!
7. 500W RMS power-handling. I couldn't imagine what that would sound like since I'm only running 100!

Weakness:

1. Incredibly heavy. Speaker itself weighs about 40 pounds.

1 word: INCREDIBLE! I had 3-10 inch Cerwin-Vega Stealts in the back of my car with 200w running to each speaker and with about 20db bass boost and they didn't even come close to this one! I'm now running only 100w to this with about 3db bass boost and this speaker simply blows them out of the water! At first, I had the boost set to about 10db and I simply couldn't stand it, this speaker is just amazing!

Similar Products Used:

Blows away any Fosgate, Cerwin-Vega, or JL subs that I've ever owned.
I also have a friend who had 2-12" DVC Orion Cobalts with 200w to each and they still didn't come close to this thing!
