Review 1 of 2

Price Paid:  $35.00 from ubid.com

Year / Model Reviewed:
 a/d/s/ 308rs

Summary:
I bought these little subs for a rediculous price, thanks ubid. I hear they retail for 300 a piece. The motor is the same dvc motor they use for the 12's and 10's so it is huge for an eight. I would say they weight at least 25 pounds each, maybe 30. They are some of the best sounding SQ subs I have ever heard. I use my pair in a sealed box .8 cubic feet, I put this truck style box behind my pasanger seat.

Strengths:
Great sound quality, very good excursion capability. They go incredibly deep for 8's in a small box. I cannot think of a weakness.

Weaknesses:
Hard to find, esp at my price. If I had to pay what others do, I would only buck up about 180 each. But $35 sounded fine to me

Similar Products Used:
PPI flat pistons (good SQ but need large box, not very efficient) JL W6 (damn fine) Rockford (pound but sound like dirt)

Review 2 of 2

Price Paid:  $135.00

Summary:
I do belive that any weakness are due to the fact that my boxes have a .35 cubic foot volume. I built the boxes b4 I ordered them. The included literature showed that this sub will play more low bass with a .5 cubic foot enclosure. My future plans involve making a single box with two .5 cubic foot sections to see if this improves the sound. I gave up the pioneer premiers in an effort to conserve space in my extended cab truck which is usually occupied by my girlfriend's daughter.

Strengths:
Hmmm, very good for sq. For an 8" sub, it handles quite a bit power and does supply good impact and low bass.

Weaknesses:
This sub does not seem to handle power very well. I am only pushing each w/ 200 watts rms and they seem to be pushed to thier physical limit. This is due to a rather thin and very short surround.

Similar Products Used:
10 and 12" kicker competition, 12" kenwood, 12" pioneer premier
