Review 1 of 84

Price Paid:  $100.00 from online car stereo

Year / Model Reviewed:
1999 civic

Summary:
i bought 2 12 CVRs and they hit pretty hard, i have them hooked up to a mono channel 1000 kenwood amp to make the install easy for my lazy ass. i have a q-logic box that has a sealable port so when i feel like listening to rock i just seal it up, but the things hit so damn hard it doesnt really matter if i have it sealed when i listen to deep bass. the only thing is that you have to really play with the amps settings to get them to sound just right haha

Strengths:
good price, take lots of abuse.

Weaknesses:
2 12's are too loud for my taste in the civic's tiny interior haha

Review 2 of 84

Price Paid:  $100.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
1998 comp vr12

Summary:
these are the slowest reacting subs i've ever used, they have a disgusting amount of boominess under 60 hz, trying to get and kind of kick drum hit is impossible.. if you listen to rap or rock they are OKAY, but not nearly as good as the JL 12w04 that it replaced (and my JL lasted TEN YEARS!!) basically i listen to alot of ( and make it also, so i'm no idiot in the audio department, in case you're wondering) electronica and drum and bass, and these subs just can't keep up, i paid 100.00 to my cousin for these things, 2 of them in a ported kicker made box.... and they sound horrible, so i put one in a ported box, still crappy, sealed box, still crappy, bandpass box, still crappy... anyway, i'll be giving them back to him this weekend and buying two JL's again... so, in summary, if your a basshead and not interested in real sound quality and just want your ears to bleed, these'll do the trick, if you want TIGHT BASS and kick, get JL... or JBL if you're more into rock or country.. had two of those a while back... there is a reason concert halls use JBL!!!

Strengths:
pounds like a freakin jackhammer, with just as much annoyance

Weaknesses:
sound horrible, at speed, extremely boomy, you;d better have a pair of 8's running also to catch what these miss... or get a better sub and catch it all

Similar Products Used:
JL, JBL, Clarion (eh, okay), alpine,

I used to have two Infinity 12's in a sealed box...I definately like the kicker subs better.
