Review 1 of 8

Price Paid:  $200.00 from Individual

Year / Model Reviewed:
2001 Punch HX2

Summary:
These subs rock! They hit hard and are really loud. I got them in a small sealed box (.75 cubic feet each), and they were decent; really tight. Then put them in a big box (1.5 cubic feet each), and they straight out pounded. They moved almost three inches. It was sick. However, one of the subs sounds like it was hitting a metal wall when it moved a lot. Some guy I talked to said the voice coils were starting to seperate. Otherwise, awesome subs.

Strengths:
Gut wrenching bass. Great sound in sealed box. Rubber ring to seal. Good looks.

Weaknesses:
One of the subs voice coils are starting to seperate.

Similar Products Used:
Pioneer Subs & Head unit, Rockford Amp

Review 2 of 8

Price Paid:  $250.00 from eBay

Year / Model Reviewed:
2003 Rockford Fosgate HX2 RFD2112

Summary:
I bought two of these subs and hooked them to a RF Power 1001bd amp. They hit really hard and sounded so good. After two days of using them they blew. So they arent that durable and all of the stuff they say they put on the sub to make it "shed heat" obviously doesnt work. Sounds really good but they definitly dont sound good blown.

Strengths:
Good sounding sub

Weaknesses:
They blew.. What good are they now?

Similar Products Used:
Alpine CDA-9833 head unit, RF Power 1001bd amp, RF Power power capacitor, Q Logic vented box, RF wiring, and Infinity Reference 3 way 6x9s.

Review 3 of 8

Price Paid:  $250.00 from Elite Sound and Secu

Year / Model Reviewed:
2001 Punch HX2 Dual 2 ohm

Summary:
I use to have an Orion XTR3 Pro 12" sub in a sealed box in my jeep cherokee and that wasnt enough. I bought a single Punch HX2 12 and but it in a pre fab slot ported super bass box and it is awesome. I have it wired at 1 ohm using a Hifonics Brutus BX500D. I rolled up my windows and turned LOUD on on my radio with the bass knob half way up and straight cracked my windsheild. This is the sub for you if you want to be heard blocks away.

Strengths:
Tremendous bass in a ported box.

Weaknesses:
None so far.

Similar Products Used:
Orion XTR3

Review 4 of 8

Price Paid:  $100.00 from SECREET

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2002/ROKRFP2112

Summary:
OVERALL DECENT WOOFER. EXTREEMELY DURABLEWITH TIGHT RESPONCE BUT A LACK OF EXCURSION HURTS PERFORMANCE

Strengths:
WILL TAKE A BEATING AND HAVE 1 YEAR REPLACEMENT. YOU WONT FIND THAT ANY WHERE ELSE.

Weaknesses:
I EXPERIENCED A TREMENDOUS OVER EXCURSION PROBLEM AT LOW FREQUENCIES. IT SOUNDED LIKE THE WOOFER WAS BANGING ITS HEAD AGAINST A WALL. LIKE PLASTIC HITTING METAL.

Similar Products Used:
I RAN 2 OF THESE WITH AN XTANT1001DX, SECOND BATTERY, SEALED 2.5ft^3 net airspace, parallell 1ohm load.

Review 5 of 8

Price Paid:  $249.00 from Crutchfield

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2001 RFD DVC 12

Summary:
I gotta tell ya, this is the sweetest sub I''ve ever bought. Audiobahn is loud and not much else. These are loud but are also accurate, smooth and bump like crazy. MDF box at just 1 cu.ft., in an extended cab pickup and wow!

Strengths:
SQ, smooth roll off with not so much as a hint of muddiness. I love the gasket that covers the screws and provides an airtight seal. Sweet sub!

Weaknesses:
Haven''t found one - doubt I will.

Similar Products Used:
Audiobahn, JL''s and Polk none of which compare. But remember that I am an audiophile.
