Review 1 of 216

Price Paid:  $150.00 from Futureshop

Year / Model Reviewed:
2006 Infinity Kappa Perfect 12.1

Summary:
This subwoofer is AMAZING, you can throw everything you've got at it (including the kitchen sink) and it just begs for more, provides deep clean bass. I have friends with dual 12 inch setups with ported boxes and they can't come close to the sound my 1 12 in a sealed enclosure pumps out.

Strengths:
incredibly deep CLEAN bass at any volume

Weaknesses:
none so far

Review 4 of 216

Price Paid:  $189.00 from Crutchfield

Year / Model Reviewed:
2004 perfect 12.1

Summary:
This is a very high quality subwoofer. I have it in a 1.9 cubic ft slot vented enclosure running off of an mtx 501 2 channel amplifier briged to 1 channel. (and an external subsonic filter) The amp puts out 400 watts rms. This sub will play very low frequencies, but is also very tight. The suspension is tight enough for vented enclosures, but is also loose enough for sealed enclosures. The driver makes absolutley no noise during operation. It is well constructed. If used improperly and you allow it to flex beyond it's limits you will cause damage to the spider/voice coil. Use a subsonic filter when the driver is installed in a vented enclosure. This sub is intended for dead on music accuracy. Do not expect to compete in spl competions with this driver. It was not built or intended to be used in this application. Be smart and follow the instuctions set forth by the manufacturer. You will be happy with your purchase.

Strengths:
Perfect music reproduction. Extended low end response. Large x max Attractive design.

Weaknesses:
Absolutely none. Be confident you are making a smart purchase. This is a great driver.

Review 5 of 216

Price Paid:  $125.00 from Ebay

Year / Model Reviewed:
2004 Kappa Perfect 12.1

Summary:
I have 2 of these in a custom box in the back of my 98 Camaro. I researched subs for a long time and I wanted something that was loud but would sound good with rock too. These speakers seemed to fit that description best, and I would not hesitate to buy them again. I have not had any problems with them at all and they seem very durable. The SQ theses things are capable of is amazing. I realize these are not made for SPL but I have heard from many people that I probably have the loudest system in my high school. A large part of this is probably the car but still I am very impressed with them. The best part is I am only powering them with a 1600 watt Sony amp (for now), so they are not even being pushed to their full potential. For the money, these are probably the best subs out there IMO. I got them for $125 a piece plus shipping off Ebay. Just make sure you get a capacitor or second battery as the amount of power these subs draw sure dims your lights. Hope this helps.

Strengths:
Great SQ, very good SPL very durable high sensitivity (96 dB)

Weaknesses:
none so far...
