Review 1 of 6

Price Paid:  $199.00 from Sound Circuit

Year / Model Reviewed:
2004 SWS 1041 BP

Summary:
I have this 10" in a bandpass box and let me tell you this kicks @zz. I went to the store and took 3 different subs in their boxes out to my car to listen to them. Oh by the way the 3 different subs were actually all JL Audio. One was 2 10" , a 12" and 2 12" and let me tell you this Alpine blew them out of the water. JL is over rated in my opinion. Don't get me wrong good subs but for SPL this thing ROCKS. Although I know bandpass box are more for SPL

Strengths:
ALL

Weaknesses:
None I can think of

Similar Products Used:
JL, Boston Acoustics, and Pioneer

Review 5 of 6

Price Paid:  $130.00 from Crutchfield

Year / Model Reviewed:
 SWS1041D

Summary:
This is an outstanding subwoofer. Don't pay the extra cost for the Type-R's unless you need their added power handling ability. You won't be sorry with your purchase.

Strengths:
This sub blows away the JL 10W3 D4 I was using. The Alpine hits harder, plays louder and goes deeper. I'm using it in a JL Audio Vantage Stealthbox. The Vantage only has .6 cubic feet of internal volume. It would seem that the Type-S is amuch better match to an enclosure this small than the 10W3 is.

Weaknesses:
none

Similar Products Used:
JL Audio, Kicker
