Review 1 of 4

Price Paid:  $125.00 from ebau

Year / Model Reviewed:
 late 90's

Summary:
This thing is SUBSONIC!!! begans to get right around 50hz and keeps gettin meaner as it gets lower. I got mine in my music room in my home. It take a big friggin box, 11 cu ft, for a ported box. It's worth the space for the FEEL. Runnin a big pro amp with a dbx 'subharmonic synthisizer' ( if you don't know what this this does, you better ask somebody, cause it is the shiznit!!!) and this thing literally vibrates the whole house. It is perfect in this application. I can't imagine it in a ride, too low for me.

Strengths:
loud and low as heck, can find em on ebay for next to nothin,

Weaknesses:
takes a huge box

Similar Products Used:
various jbl, cerwin vega, jl audio w7 (way overated and overpriced) audiobahn etc

Review 3 of 4

Price Paid:  $200.00

Summary:
Just plain awesome sub taht are tredmendous quality and have a surround that is a rigidd structure vs the foam and rubber you find alot. On bass test cds you would think that they are being that loud but wait until you hit the true low notes, they will wow you. I was driving with my windows up and put in a bass mechanik cd and they went so low that I felt this depressurized light headed feeling. Great Subs. I am about to add some JL not jbl 10 inch subs for higher bass notes.

Strengths:
Super freakin low bass. Where my friend's 12inch Eclipse subs bottomed out mine just started. I have 2 of these JBL 18s in my camaro and they'll blow anything away. Subsonic is what they are really made for.

Weaknesses:
None to really think of. Just take space which isn't too bad but do need power. I have a JBL 1200 watt amp(1400 actually with my system running 14volts.) Crank them up to pound and the light will dim a good bit and suck your battery gauge down. I am about to get a higher output alternator.
