Review 1 of 25

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
I have used these subs numerous times..They have a decently built motor, have good SPl for an everyday sub..But I have 2 12" REsonant Engineering subs now...These beasts will slaughter ANY Jl sub on the market..Yes that includes the 13.5inch JLw7..I strongly recommend u buying the RE's... If u dont believe me check them out www.reaudio.com Then click on xxx model line..NO, I am not bashing the W7 at all...But its a waste of money compared to the Adire Audio Brahma or the RE xxx's

Strengths:
Jl w7 is a very nice sub, a lot of research went into this sub..Top of the line no doubt..BUt there still is other subs out there..

Weaknesses:
PRICE!!!!! and cant compare to RE xxx's or Adire Audio Brahmas

Similar Products Used:
RE, Adire audio, Elemental Audio, Kicker Solo barics

Review 2 of 25

Price Paid:  $500.00 from ground zero car audi

Year / Model Reviewed:
 98/mustang

Summary:
Ok I know this is for w3s but there is no reviews yet for w7s. Holy crap w7s freakin POUND, and their bass is incredibly smooth and clear "I have 2 12s" My friend has 2 12 solo baric L7s and they were good but mine hit harder and sounded better. I think this is definetly the best sub on the market nothing I have heard, "polk momos, Kickers, mtx, Infinity, atomic, bumps like these can there is no comparison, I have had them for only 3 weeks and have been pulled over 7 times for noise pollution!!!!! not to mention I set off car alarms from 100 meters away.

Strengths:
Everything, JL is the best if you feed them the right power. I have a 1600 watt kennwood 810xd mono amp to them

Weaknesses:
will make your car fall apart without layers upon layers of dynomat, and might make you deaf over time

Similar Products Used:
polk momo, kicker solo baric L7, kenwood 1225 DB(not a bad sub for kenwood)Infinity kappa perfect, Atomic, Ample, all are decent but the w7 blows them away.

Review 3 of 25

Price Paid:  $550.00 from Crocktronic

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2002

Summary:
This aint a review for the w6 but for the new 2002 W7! Not to put the W6's down but the W7 will KILL the 6's. I was at a competion last week and with my 1 W7 and JBL BP1200.1 i pushed a 152.6 The guy who ran after me had 2 12 inch w's n a 15 w6. He hit 147 db! These W7's are the most incredible sub i have ever heard in my life, that includes tit. eclipse, momos, mtx8000, soundstreams, solobarics and everything else. They retail for around 800, but its definately worth it. It sounds like you have 5 times the subs your pushin.

Strengths:
Very Very Very lows. Can hear them from FAAARRRR away n doesnt rattle all ur sh*t. INCREDIBLE!

Weaknesses:
NONE!! only possible thing is they might be too nice for ya..!

Similar Products Used:
Solo Barics(not as low), momos, eclipse(still nice but u need atleast 3 to compare to the 7)

Review 4 of 25

Price Paid:  $500.00 from classified ad

Year / Model Reviewed:
 99 JL AUDIO 15W6 (trio)

Summary:
More than 4 years and 2 vehicles, the same set up exists. 3 JL AUDIO 15W6s sealed in a box that takes up most of my trunk. I manage to turn heads anywhere when I crank these babies up. I have seen cars so annoyed by the sound pressure, they actually change lanes. I can generally pull up to any punk blasting his car and look over and watch his face in amazement when I pull up next to him. If you take the time and money and have a box built by JL's sealed or ported recommendations, you will be happy! I recommend a high current/low impendance amp capable of a 1 ohm bridged mono load. I have been using a MMATS D200HC (chrome) to drive these. I have never failed to impress anyone who has sat in my car. Beautiful thing: I am running my amp at 75% potential. If the gains were set any higher, I seriously believe the amp will hurt one of these subs. I should compete.

Strengths:
Recognizable looks, linear behavior, power handling, peak response at clipping is soft or non noticeable, great visual excursion movements, integrates well with all music types and audiophile components, excellent sealed performance! A+. If you crave sound quality and want the ability to impress others, these subs will give you the best of both worlds. I highly recommend.

Weaknesses:
Foam surround. I put aesthetic grills over each 15 to protect. THIEVES! I tend to get followed alot from young ass punks who are envious of my sound.

Similar Products Used:
MMATS JUGGERNAUTS. Rockford Pro Series. Both subs are very loud but that's it! Would not recommend for audiophiles.

Review 5 of 25

Price Paid:  $500.00

Summary:
For more than 3 years and 2 vehicles, I have had the same set up. 3 JL Audio 15W6's in a sealed box accurately designed mathematically for 1.25 net internal feet each. 1.36 cubic feet insures we met the requirements. Soundstream Class A 10.0 and now MMATS D200HC powers them in a 1 ohm configuration. With all source materials on cd, I am very pleased with their linear behavior with low frequencies. There has been very strong sound pressure levels in my car exceeding 150 decibels legally. Sound quality blends easily with my MB Quart 215.61Q dash/door components with my rear OZ Audio CS130 components. These subs represent as close to perfect for overall sound quality and the ability to get loud. For audiophiles who want the best of both worlds with SPL and sound quality, look no further. I highly recommend!

Strengths:
Cool most recognizable looks, accurate linear behavior, superb sound quality, strong excursion movement, excellent customer support with recommendations of their product. Excellent output in a sealed box! A+

Weaknesses:
Outer edge above the foam surround. It tends to peal after a couple of years.

Similar Products Used:
Rockford Fosgate Pro Series. Did not blend well with music. I have used JL Audio W5 and W6 series for over 5 years and would not consider anything else.
