Year / Model Reviewed:
2004 kicker comp cvr

Summary:
kicker comps are defnitely one of the best if not the best period.... they hit harder then the punches i had and my old mtx thunders... i highly reccomend if anyone is looking to buy speakers to go with kicker comp. they also put out more watts then what they say. i have a 1200 watt kicker comp amp connected with it and it still sounded like it wasnt putting out enuff watss so i threw one more amp on it this one is a 600 watt rockford fosegate.. u can hear me from 4 blocks away..and if u get a radio try a newer sony explode

Strengths:
pound hard and good clarity

Weaknesses:
dont know yet

Price Paid:  $1.00 from blah

Year / Model Reviewed:
2003 Kicker Comp VR

Summary:
yeh, well hey buddy, not to sound like d*ck but i got sum news for you, with most subwoofers. in a vented box, the subwoofer will not reach full exurtion pardon my spelling. But if you were to seal that up, then you would get yer full exurtion if yer putting the max RMS power into it.

Strengths:
dunno

Weaknesses:
dunno

Review 5 of 5

Price Paid:  $70.00 from ebay

Year / Model Reviewed:
2003 Kicker CVR124

Summary:
Rock-solid! I bought a pair for $135 off of ebay (Mr2guy)..they were charging $270/pr at a local sound shop! I have them installed in their custom Subzone vented enclosure(HV-122VR ~ not recommended for SQ). Power is provided by a pretty Orion HCCA 225 Digital Reference Amplifier w/a 1 F cap. I have them wired for a 1O load so they see approx. 500W total w/engine running. They hit pretty darn hard. I have them playing from 80Hz on down - any higher and it would sound like @$$. The box makes the bass a bit boomy instead of the quicker, tight-punchy bass you'll get out of a sealed box. In the vented box tuned to 38 Hz, low bass extension, <30 Hz, ain't happening(Human hearing can't register sound below 20 Hz anyway!). They play well at moderate levels, delivering clean bass notes without a hint of fade. Even at full volume (before distortion) the CVR's are accurate and solid. The cone does not even seem to even come close to full excursion and still moves plenty of air. Great all-around sub for the money!

Strengths:
Great looks & materials! Titanium plating, double-stitched surrounds, strong rubber surround, spring-loaded jacks! Available with dual 2 or 4 O voice coils. Hi output even at moderate listening levels. Does not require monstrous amounts of power. Sounds great in either sealed or vented boxes. Great value for $135/pr!

Weaknesses:
Avg power handling in vented enclosure(300 W max/coil-Kicker manual) Cast basket would be nice. Ummm...I think that's it.
