The 2008 X3 is a 4-door, 5-passenger luxury sport-utility, available in one trim only, the 3.0si Sports Activity Vehicle. The X3 has a 6 Speed Manual transmission, 3.0-liter I6, 260-horsepower engine, and BMW refers to the X3 as a Sport Activity Vehicle, with an emphasis on performance. The X3 is only slightly smaller than the X5 and features the xDrive all-wheel drive and traction system, a new engine, new transmission, more refined interior and a freshened exterior.
