Price Paid:  $0.00

Strengths:
generally, good customer service.

Weaknesses:
medical claim department can be very difficult to deal with.

Summary:
My car was hit from behind by a driver who was speeding. The insurance adjuster was pretty helpful in helping me to settle the claim since my car could not be repaired. However, the medical claim department was very cold and heartless. I was very scary when I was hit. My heart rate was extremely high when I was examined by a nurse at the accident. As a result of the fright I have and due to past experience, I went to the acupuncture clinic for treatment with pain in the heart and for aching in the body. I do not have medical insurance at the time and could not afford to go to the emergency room. The cost was around $100 for the two days visits. And my policy had $5000 coverage. Unfortunately, the insurance adjuster from the medical claim department refused to pay for my treatment even after I had submitted my payment receipts. I was feeling pretty low due to the accident and wishing the driver had been more careful. Dealing with the agent only makes matter worse. The treatment was pretty unfriendly, harsh and critical and it is for only $100. I am looking for a much better insurance agency to go with. It is really good customer service, price, and one that is more humane in their approach. I don't know if it exists. In my past, I found insurance agency difficult to deal with even though you have paid the premiums. If anyone has good experiences and can recommend, please do so. Thanks.

Price Paid:  $0.00

Strengths:
easy to purchase, good customer service

Weaknesses:
dont save you that 15% they advertise, it came up to 120 more than state farm for 6 months on my car i decided to quote with another company

Summary:
i wanted to post this review cause i was with geico for almost 5 years and always liked it and thought i was saving money, but come on, car insurances are expensive, we need them but it takes a big chunck out of ours pockets even if you never file a claim. So i moved from Ohio to Florida and my insurance automatically went up 80 dollars for that (and i didnt carry colision), thats when i started thinking there must be a way to save. So i quote with allstate and state farm, the last on was the only one outstading cheap.I upgrade to 50 deductable on comprehensive and still got to save 100 dollarsfor 6 months, its 25% less than geico, so fyi geico doesnt save you tthat 15%, state farm does.

Price Paid:  $0.00

Strengths:
easy to purchase

Weaknesses:
applies an SR22 to your policy even if you're not required to carry one

Summary:
DO NOT insure with Geico if you live in California. Geico is a participant in the CA DMV's "voluntary insurance reporting program." Which means Geico voluntaraly reports to the CA DMV that you are uninsured when you make changes to your policy: specifically when you sell a covered vehicle and drop it from your policy. Geico did this to me which prompted the DMV to suspend the registration on my vehicle that I was still driving and was still insured. This in turn forced me to go to court, then wait 4 hrs at the DMV only to be told I need to send $14 to some website and wait 14 days until the suspension will be lifted. I asked the DMV for a temporary registration to use in the mean time so I wouldn't get pulled over again, and they told me they couldn't do that, I would just have to not drive for the 14 days. So even though I'm totally legal I am still under the risk of getting pulled over by the cops and having to go to court again simply because I chose Geico as my insurance carrier. Please don't make the same mistake as me. Make sure the insurance company that you buy from DOES NOT participate in the CA DMV's "voluntary insurance reporting program."

Year / Model Reviewed:
2004 Mini

Summary:
Geico gave me the premium insurance at $1300 a year for 2 cars. Base on my driver records, they told me that they need to raise the insurance to $1500 a year...., Which is okay for me because I think it is still cheap anyway, then a few days after they collect the first payment,, Geico called me a said my premium insurance went up to $3300 because of my driving record ... and with my previous insurance company I paid only $2200 a year with exact same coverages
.....Please dont waste your time to deal with them

Price Paid:  $6000.00 from private

Year / Model Reviewed:
2002 ford taurus

Strengths:
Customer Service, availbility, financial stability

Weaknesses:
some customer service, some rates

Summary:
I had Geico for a year and a half the service was great left per rate ( my fiance had some accidents and tickets which caused the rate to change went elsewhere for a little bit lower rate. Now i also work at geico im in customer service. with all the bad reviews i can understand you dont know insurance i did not either till i had 6 months of training and have continued training. first read the contract please it will state whats covered very important. ALSO when you get mail from geico read it asap!!! sometimes we need your signature to have the coverages you want this is the state not geico! many times a person will call in over their rate and it was because they did not fill out a form if you have questions please call we are here to help and are readly availbe. AND for everyone who says that the customer service is rude you should know what we have to listen to i have people all the time call and yell at me curse at me and threaten me for no reason we are people too and some time mistakes are made geico monitors calls on every associate for quality, and customer service we have very high standards trust me geico is a good company yes sometimes the rates are higher because unlike other companies (AIG) we do not want to go out of business if you really want to know about how good a company is please read about them people always tell me how their company is better but they dont mention how one company is wanting to leave an entire state because they can not raise their rates ( try asking their 40 million customers in flordia and you will see) if you read your contract and go over you coverages their are ways to save money and trust me we are not trying to get all the money we can from you because we have to go over discounts on many types of calls you dont like your premium call us and we will tell you what there is to lower it just ask that is really easy. I WORK AT GEICO AND I VALUE MY JOB AS AN INSURANCE AGENT I WILL DO MY BEST TO HELP YOU. oh and the surveys we send out about your call those affect our job performance so if you hate geico if the agent you spoke to was good to you please rate them correctly it is important thanks
