Summary:
Travelers isn't as everyone is saying. I didn't have any troubles when I was rear-ended right after I got insurance with Travelers. The claim was handled promptly and professionally. Also, every time I call customer service they are so nice and helpful. I'm satisfied.

Review 2 of 22

Price Paid:  $0.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
2004 dodge dakota

Summary:
Travelers Insurance is the worst. My truck was stolen and when the police recovered the vehicle it was totalled. When I met with their investigator, he would not let me out of my chair and told me that I had to "confess now because their CSI team was going over the vehicle and they could tell who was in the vehicle last". Then proceeded to send threatening text messages, at which time I filed a police report against him. It was like being in a bad Law & Order episode. The police department did not think I had anything to do with it. I then had to hire an attorney, which has cost me $1800 so far. My attorney told me that Travelors Ins. does this so that word gets out and people will not file claims. I am a 54 year old grandmother. I have never had anything like this happen to me-I have never had as much as a parking ticket. It has taken 7 months not to mention time off of work to go to depositions, but they have finally agreed to settle my claim. Of course I don't know howlong it will take to a check.

Strengths:
They know how to threaten & frighten people who make a claim

Weaknesses:
Travelers Insurance is the worse. They have absolute no customer service.

Similar Products Used:
Harleysville Ins.-After someone went througha redlight and hit my auto, they took care of everything quickly. I went to someone else because I moved to another state and their premiums were too high.

Review 3 of 22

Price Paid:  $34000.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
2006 Nissan

Summary:
This review is regarding Travelers insurance. The worst company to do business with. I have never had any problems wuth any insurance company in my life. They will make ur life miserable. I don't even have bad driving record. They give u a quote and then jack up the price and want u to pay more. They wanted my roomates drivers license copy and proof of insurance. Think about it how pathetic is that. When I said I can't send that information because we are two different ppl (non couple) they threatened to cancel my policy. Worst customer service I have ever seen. I sent them all the information and convinced my roomate to send them his information. First they didn't follow up and the next thing is that I get a cancellation notice. I call them again and then they are like this is not a policy this is just a proof of billing, fax us ur roomates insurance card.. I did that and guess what, they got all the information they needed. They couldn't find any issues with my policy or my roomates driving history. We had just moved to a new apartment and so his policy showed new address. They were like we need proof that ur roomate had insurance prior to moving because we dont see a date earlier then it says on his card. I have had enough.. Promised myself never to call them again. Went to ALLSTATE,took my roomate with me to the insurance agent and he was like I dont need him and I am not concerned with his driving records......
Seriously, I think travelers don't want any customer business. I tried to make it work soo hard but to no avail. I am glad I transfered. This is not the right insurance company. They will offer you a cheap rate at first and after you pay them the whole amount they will try to upsell... STAY AWAY GUYS. You have been warned... especially minorities, I have heard the same stories from couple of my colored friends....

Strengths:
None

Weaknesses:
Racist

Review 4 of 22

Price Paid:  $0.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
2001 Volkswagen Beetle

Summary:
I had travelers insurance for over a year then a kid decided to back into my beetle and travelers made me pay my deductible out of pocket, even though it wasn't my fault. Then went to Enterprise Rent-a-center to rent a car while the beetle was getting repaired. But Enterprise over charged me. (I believe they took advantage of me because I was distraught from the accident.) I ended up paying extra money out of pocket to those scammers. Then When I presented it to Travelers they refused to reimburse me my deductible and the out of pocket expenses. Plus, I had to represent myself by contacting the other insurance to show them a written statement from a witness stating that I was not at fault. After 6 months of fighting with Travelers and the other insurance I contacted BBB. After a year I finally got my money back...

Strengths:
Were quick to pay my medical bills.

Weaknesses:
No customer service, had to represent myself by contacting other insurance agency, challenging to get money if not at fault.
