Review 1 of 16

Price Paid:  $25.00 from SNA - John Wayne Air

Year / Model Reviewed:
2008 Jeep Commander SUV

Summary:
After reading the terrible reviews online about Fox, I made my first Fox reservation expecting the worst. Intead, I was very happily surprised. Avis/Hertz/etc. all wanted $120/day for an SUV at Orange County airport, and Fox was LESS THAN $25/Day.

When I arrived there was no van to pick us up for 45 minutes--and the phone number posted at the airport under FOX/PAYLESS was disconnected.

But, once I got to FOX, the pickup went very smooth, I got an exceptionally clean Black Jeep SUV, and it ran perfectlyu for 4 days.

Drop off 4 days later was exceptional. When I drove up, the FOX person helped me unpack my car, took my luggage directly from the SUV to the van, and helped me disembark. I paid $120 for 4 days including ALL taxes and was never "upsold". I will rent again from FOX, even if they are not 1/4 to 1/5 the price of Avis.

Strengths:
Exceptional personnel at SNA Airport location, clean SUV, and 1/4 TO 1/5 THE PRICE OF OTHER RENT COMPANIES LOCATED ON AIRPORT.

Weaknesses:
Bad pickup system---took 45 minutes. Wrong phone number was posted at airport pickup location.

Similar Products Used:
Avis, Hertz, Dollar, etc.

Review 2 of 16

Price Paid:  $0.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
2007 Jeep Patriot

Summary:
Fox Car rental is an absolute disaster. The Jeep we got had a faulty transmission, but this was the best part of our experience. We could not locate the car return center in Las Vegas, and nearly missed our flight. The company indicated on their website that we could drop the car off at the hotel (NOT). The hotel told us to go to the airport (NOT) and nobody answered any of the phone numbers provided. I had to call emergency services to get a response! The return center was miles away, and their shuttle driver advised us to take a taxi to the airport!!! In the end, they overcharged us 35% on their quote, and I continue to get charges on my Visa months after we left the country! USE FOX AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Review 3 of 16

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
I received an April Fool joke by renting a car from Fox at Salt Lake City, Utah. The vehicle was o.k. but the customer service was worse than poor.

I have, in the past, enjoyed my relationship with Fox but this time it was horrible.

It is interesting of what one year will due. Last year in Salt Lake they had there Grand Opening in April 2008. Service was great and the experience was at least a B+. I was there 3rd. customer at the Grand Opening.

This year it deplorable. I will find it hard to do business with Fox again.

Price Paid:  $450.00 from Seattle

Year / Model Reviewed:
2009 Jeep Compass

Summary:
Customer service was quick, friendly and efficient. Picked up in Seattle, dropped off in San Diego. No problems - great price.

Strengths:
Price. Car had 12,000 miles on it

Weaknesses:
Drop off location in San Diego was convenient. But the pick up location in Seattle was halfway into Canada.

Review 5 of 16

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
Fox Car rental was by far the worst car rental experience I've ever had!!!! I've rented many cars for business and had never had such HIGH PRESSURE SCARE tactics used upon me or the other customers that were in line along with me. They persisted in bulling me to try to get me to buy unnecessary insurance and wanted me to pay $36.00 for a tank of gas at the end of the use which would have only cost them $25.00. Both the man and the women behind the counter used similar tactics. There also was no one around to talk to about my car which was dirty and had some, what they termed "major” dents in the hood. Had I not made the extra effort to find someone to verify the damage I'm sure I'd be paying for it now. They total ruined my trip because I was sure they would try to find some damage upon my return. However the return was made in the early morning and I had everything documented. They also had no maps or other services normally associated with a normal car rental service. I could go on but I'm not going to waste anymore of my time except to warn off any other potential customers. I now understand why they are not located in the Las Vegas car rental terminal.
Thanks for a poor trip, Tim

Strengths:
None

Customer Service. Car Quality
