from Tomkinson BMW Year / Model Reviewed: 2011 135i Coupe Strengths: Acceleration, Braking, Body Integrity, Comfort, DCT!!! Weaknesses: RFT, no LSD, Fuel Economy Summary: Great point and shoot car capable of cruising cross country with luggage for two. Run flats a a bit abrupt in initial impact on road irregularities.
Sport interior seats are a must, Premium Package well worth convenience and lighting of the exterior and cabin.
Besides the turbo engine, the DCT transmission puts the car in another realm. Shifts are perfect and RPM are perfectly matched in automatic mode. Sport and Sport Manual modes will allow your inner Michael Schumacher to emerge. Navigation and Premium Harmom Kardon should also be seriously considered as should be the factory installed alarm as none is available aftermarket. Heated seats will poach eggs, if you know what I mean. ;)
Coupe is lighter and more solid than the very nice 4 place convertible. Rear seat on either (smaller on the convertible)is for very short trips or children only.
Lots of modifications available and most are of excellent quality, but include the BMW tax. If you have the money, you can make this car anything you want except maybe a blingmobile. Similar Products Used: Porsche Cayman S is better handling, but not as useful and the one I drove had a terrible exhaust drone at highway speeds, a sure headache inducer after 10 minutes.
G37 more luxurious and available in AWD, but too heavy and no DCT, and slower.
