Upon introduction, the 3.6L SFI is equipped with a standard 3.6-liter, V6, 255-horsepower engine. A 6-speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard, and a 6-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is optional. The 3.6L SIDI is equipped with a standard 3.6-liter, V6, 304-horsepower engine. A 6-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard, and a 6-speed manual transmission with overdrive is optional.
Summary: Better than my 2003 CTS, better than my 2006 CTS but only because of the direct injection and all wheel drive
Strengths: Looks and sound system, electric tilt and telescoping steering
Weaknesses: Storage space, lots of no credit options as you navigate through the packages to build the car you want, lost track of the number of painted and polished rims that were deleted as I optioned out the car. Personalization is much less than past Cadillac’s and Auroras. Poor quality paint which is disappearing from the leading edge of the rear wheel wells,

Summary: This car is truly amazing. I love everything about it. I have the CTS4 with performance package,AWD 18 whls. performance brakes. The car almost makes you feel guilty with the luxury level. I did my homework and compared it to many vehicles, for the money there was no comparison..sorry. I also spoke to a Cadillac Master Mechanic I know. He told me the car was solid and he has seen nothing like it in his 20 years as a Cadillac mechanic. I know it may be to soon to tell, but so far better than good. If that changes I will be back, some how I doubt I will. At least with any complaints, I hope.
Strengths: Luxury level, ride & handling. Seems to be living up to the Car of the year status.
Weaknesses: None I can find at this time, even when trying to find something wrong, I can't.

before buying it i test drove a lincoln ls, a jaguar x-type, and the cadillac cts. obviously i choose the cts. they were all very nice and had their pluses and minuses. i choose the cts mainly because of the exterior styling. the ride was about the same between the three, all very sporty. the V8 ls was the most powerful, but the cts and jaguar still hold their own. of the three the interior looks the coolest in the cts (as in design) but the materials used seem a bit cheap, which is my ONLY semi-complaint.
as for reliability, it has been great! no problems what so ever as of yet, and i've owned it for almost a year. it feels very solid!
this is by far the coolest looking car on the street. it looks like nothing else out there and i get compliments all the time!
next year i plan on getting a year old 2008 CTS...
Strengths: exterior styling, sporty feel, its a cadillac
Weaknesses: semi-cheap interior materials (interior design is very cool though. feels like i'm in a spaceship)
