Year / Model Reviewed: 2003 INFINITI Q45
Summary: I think the styling/interior/overall value and quality of the new INFINITI Q45 is best out of EVERYTHING. Fully and absolutely loaded with climate control front/rear seats...navigation, rear camera, rear power reclining, rear air condition, voice recognition system, intelligent cruise control, all the works, the car comes out to a little above $60,000. With this in mind, every single car out there with these type of options, including the LS430, S430, 745il are all much more more expensive than the Q and offer almost the same features. With the exception of the BMW, the Q45 is a faster car than all of them, and ties with the BMW. The Q45 has a larger engine and more hp than any car. Benz and BMW are expensive because the consumers pay for the name of the car. Although i agree that the LS is a good car, it is extremely bland and WWAAAYY too conservative. Nothing like the 7 lense, most powerful headlamps in the world that are on the Q, or the electronically controlled key, or voice command, or even a rear CAMERA...nothing compares, at all!
Strengths: 340 HP 4.5l Engine
Gas mileage is excellent for the car
17city and 25 Highway
The transmission is the best i have seen even in the BMW
No i-Drive to deal with
BEST FIT&FINISH I HAVE seen...benz extremely lacks in this department.
The headlamps are to-die-for
The voice recognition/DVD NAVIGATION adapts to your voice. No matter the accent, it will adapt to your voice, and functions most easilty when your voice is heard
Rear seats recline and are heated.
Front seats are heated and cooled
VALUE VALUE VALUE!
I am really sorry to say that people are not willing, or not aware of the INFINITI Q45 enough to buy one, but this should change...SPREAD THE WORD!
BEST INTERIOR I HAVE SEEN OUT OF ANY SINGLE CAR OUT THERE! ABSOLUTELY GORGOUS
Weaknesses: Stlye to some, although i love it
Resale value, but this car shouldnt even be sold, just savoured forever! hehe

Year / Model Reviewed: 2003 Q45
Summary: Good car, although the car does not truly live up to all it's advertising. The Satalite system is not available even though the car has a SAT button the factory did not "wire" all the cars for the SAT system. The Q45 looks good but the service, follow through and complete manufacturing still appears to be Nissan... Looks good for the price compared to competitors but all those bells and whistles either don't work properly, are not truly available or are lesser imatiations. OK car but for the price your better off with an Acura.
Strengths: Styling
Weaknesses: Does not live up to the "hype"

Year / Model Reviewed: 2002 Q45 ( The New Q ! )
Summary: First of I would like to say how much of an amazing car this is. In a value driven world like this you can not find a better buy when it comes to a luxury car. I aranged a test drive of the new 2002 Q45 with Modern Infinty of Greensboro, NC (they were more than helpfull). Infinity has really outdone itself when it comes to presenting itself to the public, its dealership was the nicest in the area and it staff were top notch profesionals. Now on to the car..... As you approach the vehicle you know you are in for a treat. Behind the aggressive titanium colored grill (which is in front of the headlights and lowered a bit is really sporty looking) is a 4.5 litre work a Nissan magic. The 4.5 V-8 is only .4 litres larger than the previous model's engine, but it produces 70 more horsepower ( 340 compared to 270 ). The engine is fully tricked out, utilizing variable exhaust and intake manifolds, electronic throttles, and titanium valves filled with sodium for cooler running. The engine twists it 333lbs. of torque through a 5 speed manumatic, with traction control and the like to the rear 18x8 wheels. 0-60 in less than 6 seconds is a small feat in this car, you can smoke the punk teen in the 'stang with 4 of your buddies with no problem. The interior is bar-none. High Quality leather, comfortable sports seats, power everything, dual-zone climate control, computer that monitors car systems, an 8 speaker 300watt sound system with a subwoofer, and mostly everything is voice activated. The wood trim is real, and might I add beautiful. The Q is available with a DVD navigation system, power rear seats, and a back-up camera. This is the best car I have ever had the privilage to test drive, including BMWs, Mercedes, Audis, and Lexus.

Strengths: Engine, Interior Trim, Exterior Style, Features, Wheels, Low Price compared to equall BMW, Mercededs, or Lexus
Weaknesses: Nothing worth not recomending the automobile

Summary: The previous reviewer is obviously referring to some personal problems of his, not a car. What does someone committing suicide have to do with a car design? The Q is a "rebadged Nissan product". Ha. What is a Lexus ? Many people might prefer pocketing the $5,000 (real-world prices) they'll save in a few months, after the new-release hubub dies down, over an LS 430. Quotes were Q 45 sales "as of april 2001". I may be mistaken, but didn't the Q45 just come out in April? How COULD they sell as many as Lexus if they just came out in the middle of the month, and are not tooled up yet for full production, since they're obviously waiting to see if demand requires it? Besides, many drivers prefer a more exclusive and unique vehicle. At least those of without lemming tendencies. The Q is, according to published information, faster, better handling, and roughly equal in other areas. Also, Consumer reports just published a guide that shows not Lexus, not Mercedes, not, BMW, not Audi, but INFINITI as having the best overall reliability. (not that CR is beyond reproach in their methods, but still being on the top of the list is hard to argue with)
As for resale, time will tell on the new model. I hope it doesn't sell as well as the other makes, because I plan to wait 2 years and snap one up after its taken its big depreciation hit. I'll take a 2 y/o Q-45 at $35,000 to $40,000 over a new Lexus GS 300 or BMW 325i or 330i any day of the week. It's bigger, faster, handles better than the Lexus, and is much more reliable than the BMW(I'm a previous 540i owner). Other than the grill, I like the look of the new Q with the sport pkg. It's modern as well as mature.
Strengths: Power, reliability, decent handling for size, decent fuel economy for class, luxury, reasonable price, safety features
Weaknesses: styling, especially the grill, isn't my favorite, lack of snob appeal to some
Similar Products Used: BMW 540i. The Q is probably more comfortable, reliable, luxurious, and yes, faster. The BMW is hard to beat for handling and looks, but is an aging design and are expensive to operate. The Infiniti dealer experience is also reputed to be better. My experience with BMW is mixed, but mostly they're arrogant and snobby. Some may like this, I don't happen to.

Year / Model Reviewed: 2002 /Q45
Summary: This car is fantastic! I've had the vehicle for 2 weeks and 2 days now and I must say that it is a few grades above my traded in 1999 Acura 3.2 TL. This car is one that you MUST read the manual to understand how to operate the multitude of "creature comforts" effectively. The interior is inviting with ample maple wood abound and available in 3 shades(the sport packaged Q45 only comes in the granite color wood and is also the only model to sport a blue trim in the rear lights and if they had other maple colors to choose from outside of the granite, I would have opted for that package rather than the luxury package). The exterior slopes like a great white shark ready to attack any pavement put in its hungry face(the grill and the high placement of the headlights really make the front of the vehicle appear to not only be intimidating but innovatively attractive as well. A+ in my book thus far!!
Strengths: 1. Design 2. Quiet ride 3. More bang for the buck spent(amenities, standard features etc.) 4. Powerful engine 5. Innovative headlights
Weaknesses: 1. A wee bit too much "play" with the pedal before actually accelerating 2. Sloping back window is pretty but, from the inside during the day without the automatic rear screen up will cause more glare than your average vehicle.
