Launched in the U.S. in 2009, the Porsche Panamera was not based on any existing model, platform, or merely a highly tuned version of a sibling model. The Panamera is a true four-door Porsche that provided Porsche driving dynamics and performance while surrounding its occupants in luxury and comfort.
New for 2011, Porsche added two Panamera models powered by a brand new 300 hp, six cylinder engine developed and built by Porsche . Also for 2011, all Panameras come equipped with Bluetooth hands-free phone capability and a universal audio interface that interfaces with MP3 players through Porsche's Communication Management system. Now standard with the Panamera and Panamera 4 is PCM and Bi-Xenon headlights.
The new Panamera V6 engine achieves 18 mpg city and 27 mpg highway. The all-wheel drive Panamera 4 delivers 18 mpg city and 26 mpg highway.
