The 2008 C70 is a 2-door, 4-passenger convertible, available in one trim only, the T5.
Upon introduction, the C70 is equipped with a standard 2.5-liter, I5, 227-horsepower, turbo engine that achieves 18-mpg in the city and 27-mpg on the highway. A 6-speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard, and a 5-speed automatic transmission is optional.
Weaknesses: Rear end styling is like all other Volvos
Summary: After test driving the Audi, BMW, Sebring and the Mercedes hardtop convertibles I choose this model. It wasn't the quickest, the best handeling or the best styling, but it won out by being second in just about all of the categories listed above. The real winner is the comfort of the driver & passenger seating. The sound system was the best out of all. It is remarkable. The styling is subtle, and it gets it's fair share of looks, but no sports car here. The beauty is when the top is down. This becomes an eye catcher from 0 to 120mph. I can put my golf bag and carrier in the trunk, but not with the top down, for that I move the bag to the rear seat. I have retracted the hardtop at a stop light, and believe me when I tell you all eyes were on this car. It is an orchestrated beauty when folding up or down and will have the envy of all around. I am surprised by the number of people that don't believe me when I tell them it's a convertible. When the hardtop is up, it looks like a sleek coup. The power plant is responsive, and handles well. The suspension is rigid, and performs adequatley as well. This is no high performance vehicle by any stretch of the imagination, but for it's price it wins hands down.

Strengths: The car has a beautiful, sleek design. I''m glad I was given the options to choose what I wanted as far as accessories. A classy yet powerful car that turns heads.
Weaknesses: When the car was delivered (at the wrong delership) there was a nickel sized hole in the leather on the driver side seat. The Volvo service department said they ordered the seat. That was 6 months ago. Still no seat. There is a constant interior rattle and also a buffeting sound is heard in the sunroof whenever it rains or when theres moisture on the car which along with the constant rattleing can be heard over the stereo system. The turn signals have gone out twice. The power windows have gone out on both driver and passenger side, twice. The motor for the windows were replaced but, the driver side window makes a grinding noise whenever I put the windows up and down. The local Volvo dealer service department has seen my car more than I have. They can''t figure out the problem. There are two differant wood finnishes in the car. Why? I made a special trip to Germany to speak to the salesman who sold me the car. His answer was giving me the phone# to Volvo of North America. Thanks. I''ve only had the car for 8 months. I thought Volvo made quality automobiles by hand with pride. Not this one. Can someone give me some help because Volvo sure isn''t.
Summary: FRUSTRATED!!!

Year / Model Reviewed: 2001 Volvo C70 T5 Coupe
Strengths: Well built ''sexy'' coupe beautifully finished both inside and out. Top class performance from a refined turbocharged engine.
Weaknesses: don''t like the new automatic gearbox , old one was better as you had an option to select mose eg sport economy etc. ride a bit bumpy in city however sports supension and 17" alloys are a contributory factor.
Summary: This is my second C70, so that tells a tale, however I find the most recent one to have a serious wind noise problem from both front windows. Been back six times now with the dealer to resolve. Also suffers from buffeting at the sunroof when its raining or the car is wet, this problem was in my previous 1999 model.P.S.Has anyone else experienced the wind noise problem ?

Summary: It appears that my 2001 Volvo C70 canvas
convertible top was not sealed properly from the factory. Any droppings or dirt that hits the top leaves a stain. Volvo will not address this problem, even though the car is under warranty.
Anybody familiar with this problem, or have any suggestions?? Thank you, Jeff
