Price Paid:  $23000.00 from Dealer

Year / Model Reviewed:
2006 CXS

Strengths:
Ride quality, comfort, quick acceleration, luxury touches, works nicely in the snow with 4 winter tires

Weaknesses:
Comfort (coming from a heavier body and good suspension system) and speed decrease mpg, in comparison with lighter mid-size cars with lesser comfort and similar acceleration

Summary:
2006 Buick Allure/Lacrosse CXS purchased at one year of age (March 2007) with 23,000 km (14,000 miles) for $23K from dealer. It has been driven for one year (17,000 km/10,500 miles) without any reliability issues, requiring only consumables (oil+filters).

It is a family car with luxury touches (heated leather power seats, zoomy 3.6L engine, fine ride quality, light steering effort that increases with speed, climate control, auto lights, remote start, etc). My wife and I are very pleased with it, and recommend it to buyers seeking a reliable family mid-size 4 door sedan with graceful touches and more than adequate speed.

The styling cues on this car may not appeal to young drivers. I have seen only other mature and older drivers driving this model of car.

I read in the popular press that 2009 will be the end of this model line, together with the similar Chevrolet Impala and Pontiac Grand Prix.
