Review 1 of 95

Year / Model Reviewed:
1993 GSi

Strengths:
Cheap gas/good gas milage, cute little car, I can't complain too much after all I've been through with this car, cuz overall, it's gotten me where I wanna go, when I wanna go.

Weaknesses:
Paint job isn't too great, but what do u expect from an early 90's model, expensive to take into shop to repair, weird spark plug configuration, (when my BF did a tune up on my car he'd never seen anything like it...he doesn't like the car anyway....) I'm saving up for a better car anyhow!

Summary:
The Car is definitly one of a kind, I'd never seen anything like it before. The car was/is my first car and was tough at first learning the stick shift b/c of the high clutch, but now any other stick shift is a piece of cake compared!

This is my first car, but even so, I don't think anything can compare

Review 2 of 95

Price Paid:  $9600.00

Strengths:
base model with a spoiler. Tires are cheap compared to most cars. Great gas milage, easy to fix (if you have the book and tools) very sporty, easy to take care of. No major interior damage (I still have the dash!) General maintenance is a breeze. If you have a driveway, you can get it done. A few exterior scratches (but what car dosen't have them anymore?) and a great looking interior...by the way I solved the whole cup holder issue. :D Great traction on the wheels, No problems out of the rods (I should just shut up, that might be the next thing to replace!)

Weaknesses:
Wipers aren't the best, sometimes it won't start in sub 0 weather. Hot days, you can really tell how old it is, it dosen't give the kick like it should. Rainy days the winshield fogs a little, but open a window, thats what they're there for. If you over 5'4 don't get in the back. Tall people (my boyfriend in particular) HATE this kind of car! Finding parts really really suck. Easy to put in but DEFINITLY expensive!

Summary:
I bought this car new off the lot. It was sweet then and its sweet now. No major problems out of this car. I burned up the heater core at 100,000 miles, replaced water pump and timing belt at 125,000 miles. I replace tired every 2 years. Tires last forever. I drive alot! I do a lot of city/highway driving and I spend a few hours a day in my car driving back and forth to work. Has a lot of get up and go. Gas mileage is great, I fill up once a week. I switched to using synthetic blend to preserve the engine (hope it holds out!), the air dosen't work well anymore (but I like having the windows down anyway). I had to replace some of the fuses, put new breaks on (thank GAWD!!) But any car gets quirky after 100k. I'm coming up on 167,000 miles, and currently working on getting a new ecm and engine. 've replaced all the speakers too. The rest of the car with the exception of the normal maintenance stuff and parts mentioned is factory. I wish there was a current model made of this car, I'd be first in line!

Review 3 of 95

Price Paid:  $3000.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
1993 Storm

Strengths:
-Small, makes for easy parking
-Zippy little car
-Ridiculously large buttons (wipers/lights/radio) incase you're blind!
-Doesn't bottom out like other midget cars

Weaknesses:
-Horrible clutch
-No cup holders
-Backseat doesn't accomodate anyone over 5' tall
-Problems with the idle (especially with A/C)
-People can't figure out how to get in
(though this can be entertaining)
-Wierd interior setup (low bucket seats)

Summary:
The Geo Storm is a very compact car; good for younger people because there's no room to drive anyone else around in. It's inexpensive and uncommon (all the other Geos have already died). Nice starter car if kept in good shape. Oil needs to be changed often. OK gas mileage. Not very much "kick" to it. 4th gear turned out to be a favorite unless you like speed limits. Feels fine running around 100mph if you can get it there. Not for the long-distance traveller.

Review 4 of 95

Price Paid:  $3500.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
1993 Geo Storm

Strengths:
It's sporty, but the insurance and gas won't kill you. Great gas mileage, everything is easy to get to (i.e. radio buttons, air conditioning switches.... you get the idea...)

Weaknesses:
It's a toy car. Honestly, it feels like a glorified go-cart. It's not something that you would want to drive forever, because let's face it... it's a Geo. The backseat is roomy enough for my midget friends... but it's a pain for any normal size person. There is no get up and go about this car... it goes from 0-60 in about 10 minutes (on a good day).

Summary:
It's been a good car to start out on... not too much power (that would only get me in trouble), and great gas mileage. It was a great first car. I would recommend it for that purpose... but for anyone over the age of 18, I'd have to say look elsewhere.

Review 5 of 95

Year / Model Reviewed:
1993 /Base

Strengths:
My Storm has only had one problem in the 70+ thousand miles I have driven it. It was an oil leak and was fixed early in it's life with me under factory warranty. Can't beat that for the price ($4750) I paid for it almost 4 years ago.

Weaknesses:
Inherant Idle problems. Nothing major. Never stalled on me.

Summary:
I bought this car in March 1996. I looked in the paper for the newest, lowest mileage, cheapest car. It was between the '93 Storm or a '95 Metro. I decided on the looks of the Storm. I have never ben upset about the decision. I have updated and mainteained my Storm religeously and has apparently paid off. I really have so few problems with this car I would really would cionsider buying a newer model made by Isuzu if it were offered. Not much else to say. I enjoy my car, I enjoy being a little different and enjoy not being in a Honda Civic. :)
